Bob Beckman

[edit]
  • ... that financial commentator Bob Beckman wrote The Downwave, which was followed by Into the Upwave?

Created by Philafrenzy (talk). Self-nominated at 10:31, 1 April 2016 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - I'm not seeing direct citations at the hook sentences though I don't doubt the hooks will stand up. The stock-picking sheepdog is most promising. This Shakespeare source might help.
  • Interesting: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Overall: I remember Beckman as quite a character on LBC. Kudos to Philafrenzy for filling this gap Andrew D. (talk) 17:57, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, it's a shaggy dog story. I don't think we need an inline cite for a hook based on titles from the bibliography? As for the dog, I think it was supposedly Cornish so there may be jurisdictional issues too. I will need to get my teeth into that source and chew it over before commenting further. I hope no one hounds you for this. EEng 18:52, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
Don't worry, I know when to drop the stick. Philafrenzy (talk) 19:17, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
Philafrenzy, have you figured out the issues with the source and the hook citations? It's been ten days. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:57, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
I will do it very shortly. Philafrenzy (talk) 13:19, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
That's done, ref 8 for the first hook and 3 for the second. I also added the book suggested by Andrew. Philafrenzy (talk) 20:33, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Reviewer needed to complete the nomination. (Pinging Andrew D., in case he wants to work on it.) Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:17, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
  • A very entertaining read, and ALT1 is a great quirky hook! Article is new enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. ALT1 hook ref verified and cited inline. QPQ done. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 21:47, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
