A few pointers

[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions. I've noticed that you've been using bare URLs in your referencing. This should be avoided, and citations should include more identifying information to avoid breakage when links go offline. You'll find more information at WP:Bare URLs.

Also, it seems you used some sort of translation tool to generate the Thai name for Bhumibol Dam Airport, which was gibberish. Machine translation tools should never be used this way, as they are wholly unable to identify the correct terms and spellings for proper nouns. If you don't know the language, please leave the native name empty.

Finally, while having Wikipedia articles for obscure airports is nice, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory. Topics need to satisfy the WP:notability guidelines to warrant an article. If no in-depth information apart from basic technical facts from directory listings is available, that's usually a sign that the subject might not warrant a Wikipedia article. --Paul_012 (talk) 19:44, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I will take this in account for my next contributions to Wikipedia. Bollardant (talk) 00:34, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sumanuil. Thank you for your recent contributions to Loei Airport. I noticed that you added an image to the article's infobox as a thumbnail. In future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox, as this is against the Manual of Style. When adding an image, supply only the filename to the |image= parameter and the caption to the |caption= parameter instead. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using; please consult the Template page for the infobox being used on that page for proper instructions and documentation. Thanks! - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 04:29, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Sorry, I had forgotten to put a citation about the aircraft. The information was from citation 3 (Middle Eastern Airfield Report Volume 2 on Page 149). Bollardant (talk) 11:36, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this amazing article Bollardant!! Which was the source about Egyptian Air Force use of aircraft there, including F-100s? Can you link it? Many thanks Buckshot06 (talk) 11:12, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for doing all that digging. But I believe you have misunderstood. The EAF never flew F-100Cs or F-100Ds. What that listing is is a USAF assessment of what USAF aircraft could operate from the airfield in an emergency, I believe!! Buckshot06 (talk) 20:01, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My bad, I did not think about that. That was a good pointer, so I will try to do more digging, thanks! Bollardant (talk) 09:00, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Very impressive work you have done! Big thanks for doing such great research and also adding all of these squadrons. Bollardant (talk) 15:00, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sargodha Satellite Fields moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Sargodha Satellite Fields. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 18:46, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for moving it into the draft, I now have fixed the issue by verifiying every segment with the source I got it off from. Bollardant (talk) 21:26, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But the article leans on some unreliable sources.Saqib (talk I contribs) 18:12, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see, I will do more digging focused on books and published sources, hopefully to replace the unreliable sources! Thanks again. Bollardant (talk) 07:40, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, re Sargodha Satellite Fields, what was the name of Sargodha (Main) when it was used by the Royal Air Force? I can't find any mention of it within the map section of my RAF squadron books, or the name of the airfield in my RAF unit book. Did it have paved runways during WW2? What kind of aircraft operated from there during WW2? Fighters, bombers, or observation planes? Gavbadger (talk) 20:32, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, it was only mentioned a few times that it was apparently used by the RAF, and then abandoned after WW2. The only relevant map I could find while the complex was still active, is a PAF Wartime sectional chart, which shows all four airfields.

Lannion Airfield/Lannion–Côte de Granit Airport

[edit]

Hello,

Why did you create Lannion Airfield instead of just copying your content into Lannion–Côte de Granit Airport. The airport article is tiny, has no historical information and has plenty of room for expansion.

Gavbadger (talk) 18:04, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I think that it should be separate because it was demolished in 1944, and that there was not much information about it’s post-war re-development afterwards. There could be a main article re-direct link on the civil based article on the top of the page, or in a history summary. Also, there is a pretty big list of operational units on Lannion Airfield. Bollardant (talk) 03:23, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Yilan Airfield, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Yilan County. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
