Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, ChocoLite007. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Jayanthi Sivaswamy, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Hi @Jeraxmoira,
Thank you for your response. Dr Jayanthi Sivaswamy was a professor at IIIT Hyderabad where I previously studied. I believe this connection should not negate the merits of documenting their significant contributions.
Dr Sivaswamy is a pioneer in the field of medical image processing and analysis in India. Her research includes publications in highly regarded conferences in the field, demonstrably supported by high citation counts. Furthermore, she stands as a leading computer vision researcher in the country, recognized by both industry and academia. Notably, she served two terms as Dean of IIIT Hyderabad, a leadership position rarely held by women in top Indian universities. To ensure objectivity, the proposed article relies solely on verifiable sources. These sources support the facts presented and avoid any personal bias. Currently, no Wikipedia article documents Dr. Sivaswamy's impactful contributions. Therefore, the inclusion of a well-referenced article on Dr. Sivaswamy's achievements would enrich Wikipedia by documenting a notable figure in Indian computer science and medical imaging research.
Thank you for considering this argument on its merits. ChocoLite007 (talk) 08:18, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The article is not rejected or declined. COI needs to be disclosed on your user page or on the article's talk page. Disclosing your COI lets the reviewer check for undue bias in the article. This issue has nothing to do with Jayanthi Sivaswamy's work. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 10:47, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
