Nice work, your typofixing! Are you doing this manually? —bender235 (talk) 11:45, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As a matter of fact, all of my fixes have been manual. By doing it manually, I occasionally run across an interesting article that I may not have thought to look up otherwise. Drpickem (talk) 11:55, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Have you thought about using WP:AWB? —bender235 (talk) 12:03, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
About 8 months ago, I looked around at editing options that might speed up the process, but I haven't given it much thought since, actually. I glanced at the link you posted, however, and will probably take a closer look at it sometime over the next few days. Drpickem (talk) 12:10, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I've been using AWB for a couple of years now, and it's just great for those semi-automatic typo-fixing edits. Give it a try! And keep up the good work. —bender235 (talk) 12:17, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. And thanks for the AWB suggestion -- it's certainly worth considering, even for a stubborn manual editor such as myself. :) Drpickem (talk) 12:23, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I also would like to thank you for your typo fixes. These sorts of things are really important to the overall quality of the encyclopedia. Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:10, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It's nice to know it's appreciated. Drpickem (talk) 07:11, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Came here to thank you for correcting a couple of my minor mistakes (here and here), seems you do this quite a bit, good job! Seem to have a bad habit of spelling "positive" incorrectly when I'm re-writing articles. Anyway, thanks. HrZ (talk) 10:26, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to help. Drpickem (talk) 21:49, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for correcting my typo on the York College of Pennsylvania article. Danielklotz (talk) 19:06, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to help out. Drpickem (talk) 20:16, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for correcting my typo on my List UNESCO of sites by date of inscription. I am untertaking this massive list with little help from anyone. and fighting to get it linked to other articles. thaks for your help!

Thanks for the help with the House of Cosbys page! A lot of the edits haven't been very useful lately so it's nice to see someone actually make a positive contribution — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.40.62.85 (talk) 04:39, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Even though I only made a single edit, I'm glad it was appreciated. Drpickem (talk) 06:39, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"January" made me shiver

[edit]

Thank you for spotting two of my fumble-fingered misspellings of "January." Paul, in Saudi (talk) 04:28, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. It's a common typo -- I found dozens of them tonight. Drpickem (talk) 05:40, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to wikiFeed

[edit]

Hello Drpickem,

I'm part of a team that is researching ways to help Wikipedia editors find interesting content to contribute to Wikipedia. More specifically, we are investigating whether content from news sources can be used to enhance Wikipedia editing. We have created a tool, called wikiFeed, that allows you to specify Twitter and/or RSS feeds from news sources that are interesting to you. wikiFeed then helps you make connections between those feeds and Wikipedia articles. We believe that using this tool may be a lot of fun, and may help you come up with some ideas on how to contribute to Wikipedia in ways that interest you. Please participate! To do so, complete this survey and follow this link to our website. Once you're there, click the "create an account" link to get started.

For more information about wikiFeed, visit our project page. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask via my talk page, or by email at wikifeedcc@gmail.com. We appreciate your time and hope you enjoy playing with wikiFeed!

Thanks! Jeremey Bentham (talk) 21:20, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the invite! I'll take a closer look at those links shortly. Drpickem (talk) 18:08, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for correcting my embarrassing typos on Aureole (horse) and Sea Moon.  Tigerboy1966  22:28, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Truth be told, I think the vast majority of my edits are typo fixes as opposed to actual spelling corrections. Either way, I'm glad to help out. Drpickem (talk) 18:07, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Doctor!

[edit]

I just wanted to let you know you're actions are appreciated in Wikipedia and I thank you for them, ESPECIALLY the edits where you correct other users' mistakes. The edits may be small, but they do help. Thanks!

KazLabz (talk) 23:22, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's always nice to be appreciated. Thanks very much. Drpickem (talk) 23:31, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My personal thank you

[edit]

As one of the few young people who still care about correct grammar and spelling, I would like to thank you for your correction on Heissler of Heitersheim (Donat John Count). A single bit changed is one error less in a world that is filled with them! Mathijsvs (talk) 03:31, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're very welcome. Drpickem (talk) 16:22, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

For correcting the typo on "La Oreja de Van Gogh discography". I think it's quite important to fix the minimum amount of mispelling words in Wikipedia. --Watquaza (talk) 05:32, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad to make any corrections, even if only the minor ones. Drpickem (talk) 12:47, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest question

[edit]

99% (at least) of my edits are simple spelling and typo corrections, so I don't pretend to know the protocols when it comes to reporting what seems like a fairly obvious conflict of interest on the Maid of the Mist page. In a nutshell, a new user, seemingly with a single-purpose account, has transformed the article into an advertisement for the boat ride. Based on the name of the user involved, it seems likely that someone who does public relations for the Maid of the Mist has been making the changes.

I don't want to merely revert the edits -- that could easily start an edit war that I would really like to avoid. I just want the blatant bias removed from the article, that's all.

My apologies if this is an unorthodox way to get my concerns addressed -- I read some of the information on the COI Noticeboard and figured that this was the best way to make sure that I'm doing things right. :) Drpickem (talk) 09:40, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorted - I've reverted to a pre-spam version of the page. Coincidentally, I've also blocked the two accounts involved in adding the material, for inappropriate usernames, sockpuppetry and promotional editing. Thanks for flagging this up - for future reference, you can use UAA or WP:AIV to file a report on such shenanigans. Yunshui  10:06, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the assistance, and the advice. Drpickem (talk) 14:06, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Drpickem, for the spelling corrections at Top Tier Gasoline. Much appreciated! EMP (talk) 00:09, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how I missed this earlier. You're very welcome. Drpickem (talk) 00:22, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stanley Spencer - Thanks Dr. Pickem. Would you please correct the access date of 2015 to 2014, just after your last February!--Dendrotek 11:55, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Drpickem (talk) 17:49, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the edit to the Köchel catalogue!

[edit]

One can only type the same thing so many times without error; I guess that was my mistake here, haha. Thanks for the edit, I appreciate it! ZSNES (talk) 00:01, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Peats Ridge Festival, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Electronic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

David Shiner photo

[edit]

Hello, you recently made a spelling correction on the David Shiner article. Unfortunately the error is embedded within the name of the photo and cannot be corrected. Please ensure that you preview your edits before saving them. Thank you. EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 14:00, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I usually double-check such things. Thanks for the heads up. :) Drpickem (talk) 00:48, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
