Speedy deletion nomination of Manege de Ruif
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Manege de Ruif, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I have moved the page Elineotto/sandbox -- which is an invalid title anyways -- back to User:Elineotto/sandbox. This isn't an article yet: in fact, it's not even clear what it's *about*. --Calton | Talk 00:12, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Elineotto/sandbox
[edit]Hello Elineotto,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged User:Elineotto/sandbox for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.
You've attempted to create this article multiple times to the point of being disruptive. The article you are trying to create is an advertisment of some kind. You haven't provided any citations or any context demonstrating why this article needs to be on Wikipedia. Please either a)communicate with the editors who have reviewed your article so you can find out what is required to fix it b)fix it yourself since having taken the wikipeida adventure you ought to have a reasonable knowledge of what Wikipedia's requirements are for articles or c)stop trying to create the article.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Disruptive Editing
[edit]Hello Eline. I realise you are a new editor here (and well done for doing the Wikipedia Adventure). It must be frustrating to see your attempts to create an article on your favourite riding school being deleted time and time again. I do not wish to discourage you or any editor from creating worthwhile content here. But I do feel I must warn you that if you try to recreate the article on Prins Willem-Alexander Manege once more, you may find yourself being blocked from editing for a period of time. This is not something I have the power to implement myself, nor am I trying to threaten you in any way. It's simply that your repeated actions in trying to promote this one article about a riding school are becoming quite disruptive. We have some supplementary information on our guidance about bad editing, called Wikipedia:Competence is required. One thing we require is that you do not repeat actions you have been asked by other editors not to perform. Editors have been blocked simply because they repeatedly do not heed the advice and requests of the community of editors here.
Of course, if that riding school were suddenly to become the focus of detailed media coverage (whether in books, scholarly journals or mainstream newspapers etc), there is nothing then to stop the PWA Menage being deemed notable, and meriting a page here. If that were to be the case, you should then only ever try to recreate this article via Articles for Creation in which you prepare a Draft article and submit it for review only when it is ready, and when you feel it meets our criteria for importance, content and formatting, and is non-promotional in its style. I suspect if you were to try by another route you may well find your editing rights suspended by an adminstrator. I'm really sorry to sound harsh, but that's simply how I perceive the situation, and hope you will understand why it's best that I warn you in this way. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 23:50, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- I’m not sorry to sound harsh. This is the seventh or eighth time this editor has attempted to spam the encyclopedia. The Wikipedia adventure has obviously been used as an underhand way to acquire autocomfirmed status and the refusal to collaborate or even reply amounts to abusive behavior. This is going to ANI. Edaham (talk) 01:28, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
repeated attempts to spam the encyclopedia
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Feel free to contact me if you have any queries about this regrettably formal way of letting you know that advertising on this project is unacceptable. Edaham (talk) 01:50, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
June 2018
[edit]Hello, Elineotto. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but Prins Willem-Alexander Manege has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11. "This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION." These must be rewritten from scratch from "reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject." See WP:RS.
Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising#Typical signs of blatant advertising contains information about content to avoid. For more information on content that may be perceived as promotional, click User:Dlohcierekim/promo. These are just rough guides. Pages can avoid all those pitfalls and still be glaringly obvious ad copy. Sometimes pages meeting WP:CSD#G11 give the appearance of an editor violating Wikipedia:Conflict of interest or WP:PAID. Please read and heed them if they apply to you. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources . Template:cite has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{references}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there.
If you want to try again, please use the Article Wizard or articles for creation to guide you through the creation process. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems.
You may find this tool useful: Google custom search Don't feel discouraged. My first attempts at creating articles were deleted too.
- There is more information at Wikipedia:Community portal. There is help available at THE TEAHOUSE. Cheers, and happy editing. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 02:12, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 02:23, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Be bold, but do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- Provide reliable sources to the content you add. If you are adding biomedical information, please follow this guideline.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.

- @Randykitty and Dlohcierekim: Since the start of the ANI thread, Elineotto has made one single edit, to the Teahouse where they explained that they are doing a school project. That is not to say that their editing was not disruptive or that "school project" should excuse disruptive editing, but the block fell just as they began to discuss. I would urge, if not to reverse the block, at least to grant any appeal which promises to discuss before resuming article editing (and if Randykitty agrees with that analysis, to state so in the block message, for the reviewing admin). A message to show your teacher
[edit]Elineotto, I see you tried yet again to create another article on this same riding school after my answer and warning to you at the Teahouse, and my warning above, as well as warnings from others. From your response to us at the Teahouse, I now understand why you have been so persistent in creating and recreating a page on a riding school which we keep deleting.
It appears it was because you were told by your teacher to do it, and that you would not get graded if the page got deleted.
As a result of that threat, and your persistence, you have received a short block from editing. (You were extremely lucky you were not blocked indefinitely.) I do hope that you will show your teacher this Talk Page with all its deletion notices and warnings plus the discussion and advice we gave you at the Teahouse. Rather than blame you for the trouble you have created here, my ire is directed towards your teacher. I hope he/she appreciates the huge amount of time and effort - and probably upset on your part - that their ridiculous demand for a student to create a wikipedia page at all costs has caused everyone. For them to tell you that if your new page got deleted you wouldn't get a grade is shocking and appalling worrying. It not only demonstrates their ignorance of what Wikipedia is about and how it works, but also suggests they are a poor teacher hadn't thought this through. As Tigraan has pointed out at the Teahouse, Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation love to work with educational organisations, and invests vast amounts of money and effort in schools projects right around the globe. We love seeing new, young editors contributing constructively here; they are the encyclopaedia editors of tomorrow. So, it is really sad and frustrating that one teacher's stupidity actions has caused us all such problems and wasted so much volunteer time. (None of us get paid to sort out the mess they've caused, and I wonder how many other students they have also given this unreasonable challenge to?) It's fanciful, I know, but I think it would be nice if your teacher were to come here and apologise on this page for the trouble they have caused everyone - including you. appreciate the impact this has had.
Please feel free to show them this invitation. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 00:26, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
- I would like to add that they need to follow the steps for using Wikipedia article writing in assignments so as not to be disruptive. They can post at Wikipedia:Education_noticeboard for more information.-- Dlohcierekim (talk) 00:32, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Nick Moyes: I understand your frustration, but that's a bit over the top, don't you think? Sending a student to edit Wikipedia without familiarizing oneself with the local bureaucracy does not rise to the level of
[a] ridiculous demand
from apoor teacher
with a lot ofstupidity
. I also doubt that the student's assignment was explicitly "no page = no grade", more probably the teacher expected that anything would stick and a page disappearing sounded a lot like "my dog ate my homework".
- Also, leaving aside the fairness of your message above to the teacher, its diplomacy certainly is lacking, especially in the quasi-demand of apology at the end. That language is unlikely to help. TigraanClick here to contact me 07:46, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you Tigraan. You are absolutely right - my frustration did indeed get the better of me last night. It was not at all diplomatic; my apologies to the teacher concerned. I see that now, and have struck those phrases. (I was reminded of the time long ago when a school group came into the museum I worked at, with a worksheet requiring them (quite literally) to ask us to give them the serial number of our burglar alarm. Considering all the artifacts on display, they could have been set any number of more valuable tasks. We were appalled by the crassness of that request, but felt for the poor children who had been put into such an embarrassing and awkward position of seeking the unattainable, and being turned away with short shrift. We took the matter very seriously, raising our concerns with the school's head). I think if the teacher involved here were to see this talk page they would appreciate that if the "dog ate my homework" were used as an excuse, it had indeed been regurgitated and reconsumed many times over. Sadly, had they simply asked for this project work to have been done in a Draft or in a user Sandbox none of these problems would have arisen. Thank you for drawing my attention to the unreasonable expectation and tone used in my remarks. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 09:12, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
- Absolutely no need for frustration. It's really not a big deal at all. Swarm ♠ 09:30, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
