Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Haō Taikei Ryū Knight, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. —Farix (t | c) 03:13, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. noq (talk) 22:50, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth

[edit]

The article The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Too soon. Nothing to indicate WP:notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 22:51, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, ExplorerX19. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, BaseSon, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hi! There is now new consensus for entry inclusion criteria for List of indie game developers. I've removed entries you recently added that didn't have an article. —  HELLKNOWZ  ▎TALK 11:21, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure they are notable developers. I just google them Some of the developers on the list don't even have a link to an article of their own. They just link to their own games. Most of those entries didn't have to be deleted you can just link to their games mention in the rule for indie game developers in the List of video game companies inclusion criteria. ExplorerX19 (talk) 15:40, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notable here means WP:NOTABLE in Wikipedia terms, not how the word "notable" might be used in common speech. In any case, that was the old consensus for the list. The new decision is to trim it to the entries with article only. Not necessarily what I would personally prefer, but the consensus is pretty unanimous. —  HELLKNOWZ  ▎TALK 16:37, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX promotional official art.jpg. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:45, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Tower defense video games by series requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Action (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your new title antagonists category

[edit]

Hello,

I see you recently created Category:Video games with title antagonists. Can I suggest that your voluntarily undo your edits and put that Category up for {{db-self}} ? The alternative is taking it to WP:CFD, but hopefully that can be avoided. One of the requirements in WP:Categorization is that a category be defining to articles it is in - that this is an essential fact about the topic. This standard clearly isn't met here; this fact is far too trivial. Additionally, the category you created has unclear inclusion criteria - what if there's a character who's somewhat antagonistic in the title, but stops being an antagonist 80% of the way through the game? What if the title mentions an antagonist but indirectly?

Basically, categories are not for every cool fact, and yes, I know that there are some very sketchy categories out there already. You might want to consider asking in advance if any new categories you create are a good idea at the relevant Wikiproject, i.e. WP:VG, if you want to avoid "wasted" work in the future. I must have put protagonist as a typo. My mistake. How do I add it under db-self and what about the other category of video games with title protagonists? ExplorerX19 --ExplorerX19 (talk) 07:25, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would personally be of the opinion that a "title protagonists" category would also be bad - in general, trivia about the title of works is rarely considered relevant, i.e. various categories related to just the names (i.e. if they're palindromes or the like) have been rejected. That said, that is probably somewhat more defensible, and you're free to discuss it at WT:VG if you want a third opinion (I'm very anti-categories myself, so hearing me say it's a bad idea may not always reflect the rest of the community... but I'm pretty sure there'd be pushback there, too).
All you have to do is edit in {{db-self}} to the category description you made at Category:Video games with title antagonists and wait. You should probably rollback / undo the additions you made to it, as well. SnowFire (talk) 07:33, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello ExplorerX19. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Category:Video games with title protagonists, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Author has not requested deletion, or other users have added substantial content. Thank you. BangJan1999 21:02, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@BangJan1999: I don't think the decline was merited. ExplorerX19 did request deletion, and promptly enough that others wouldn't have added substantial content - it was just miscategorized for a long time hence the admins who monitor the backlog not noticing. I suppose a full CFD could be done but per WP:NOTBURO, I don't think there's a need - Wikipedia:SHAREDNAME is an explicit guideline against categories strictly based on titles and the like, so I think the odds of a CFD keeping the category are neglible. SnowFire (talk) 23:31, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@SnowFire: Fair enough. Although tagging categories for speedy deletion unless they have been emptied is generally not the best idea in the world due to WP:REDNO. BangJan1999 00:20, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@BangJan1999: Fair point, although Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Working#Empty_then_delete can hopefully be put to work for that. (Also, I probably shouldn't talk over ExplorerX19 - if you have any feedback and/or want to keep the category after all, that's fine and I'd agree G7 doesn't apply. Although per above, my strong belief is that this category doesn't comply with guidelines.) SnowFire (talk) 01:00, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your recent edits in List of Pokémon anime characters because you moved Rising Volt Tacklers in Protagonist section, per reliable source Pokémon Horizons have dual protagonist so please don't move them again. Ajeeb Prani 🦜 ✍🏻 10:16, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
