If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Speed Langworthy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 02:20, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on We Men Must Grow a Mustache requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article does not exist or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

Speed Langworthy[edit]

@Garfield7380 The article content was restored to Draft:Speed Langworthy by the deleting admin after I requested it from them. I see that you worked on this considerably after I tagged it. I apologize for not revisiting it after tagging it, and the admin who deleted probably should have declined the CSD. I am going to restore it back to the article space now as I belive that in its current state it should not have been deleted in the first place. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 00:59, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Good work expanding this article after it was tagged for CSD, sorry for not checking back on it. This one fell through the cracks a bit. A good start on the article with plenty of sourcing.

We Men Must Grow a Mustache[edit]

Note: I asked for the deleting admin to restore We Men Must Grow a Mustache to Draft:We Men Must Grow a Mustache, as it was deleted because the author didn't have an article (he does now). Ping me if you think it is ready for the article space and I will move it over for you. Cheers. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 07:13, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification about Über Nothzucht und Päderastie und deren Ermittlung Seitens des Gerichtsarztes[edit]

First, sorry about the stalking. I checked your contributions earlier and noticed the draft you were working on and chucked it in my watchlist (I'm seriously not looking over your shoulder!).

What is the most notable thing about this publication? From what I understand this is an early example of a discussion of male homosexuality as 'innate' or 'innocent' or something along those lines and he discusses it as pederasty? I am relying on Google translate here, so any clarification would be great. If we can clarify it in the article (why it is notable and what it is about), I'd like to suggest it for WP:DYK. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 10:08, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It is considered the first article to state the currently accepted scientific belief that homosexuality is biological. It is an article about homosexuality, but is partly about crimes against boys. This is common in 19th-century medical writings about homosexuality, such as the works of Auguste Tardieu. It may be stereotypical, today, but a lot of stereotypes were considered truth in that era. It is possibly as a result of the social Darwinism. The word homosexualität (original word for being homosexual) did not exist in 1852, and, therefore, there was no better word choice. The term knabenschander is a possible exception.

Your recent edit at Sappho[edit]

In reply to your question here, I reverted your edit because:

  1. The source you added did not support the claim that you put it with.
  2. The source is not a reliable source to cite for claims about Sappho: the main objections are that it is not by a specialist, and it is massively out of date.

(As an aside, the source is also not primary with regards to Sappho, and even if it were that wouldn't necessarily mean that it had to be cited. See WP:PRIMARY and WP:USINGPRIMARY for more about Wikipedia's approach to primary sources.)

Hope that helps. Caeciliusinhorto (talk) 08:25, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Garfield7380. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "We Men Must Grow a Mustache".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 09:51, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:33, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
