Old Testament Prophets

The sentence you deleted is consistent with the Wikipedia article "Prophet". Please read it.

  • Prophets regarded as being in contact with a divine being and is said to speak on behalf of that being, serving as an intermediary with humanity by delivering messages or teachings from the supernatural source to other people
  • Prophetic assignment is usually portrayed as rigorous and exacting in the Hebrew Bible, and prophets were often the target of persecution and opposition. According to I Samuel 9:9,[33] the old name for navi is ro'eh, רֹאֶה, which literally means "Seer". That could document an ancient shift, from viewing prophets as seers for hire to viewing them as moral teachers. L.C. Allen (1971) comments that in the First Temple Era, there were essentially seer-priests belonging to a guild, who performed divination, rituals, and sacrifices, and were scribes; and beside these were canonical prophets, who did none of these things (and condemned divination), but came to deliver a message.

The article is weal identify them as behaving as lunatics but gives many examples. I can insert a citation that they did. See [[1]]. 2601:140:8980:4B20:D968:7CEF:7DB0:F864 (talk) 00:19, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Kiaraakitty

As you can see, the page has been compromised (hope it gets protected pronto), and I have no confidence that it isn't the same way for the AfD. I hope you can objectively comment on the discussion and see if it merits a keep or not. IMO only the subject herself would want the article gone, if you truly consider all the sources presented therein Kingoflettuce (talk) 19:27, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Will do. Hydrogenation (talk) 19:28, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
They are creating more socks than I can count. I'm hitting the sack, trusting you and the others to hold the fort. Thanks! Kingoflettuce (talk) 20:22, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Park Yeon-mi

This article lists Yeon-mi Park's profession as "Human rights activist". Given her recent involvement in American politics, essentially in defense of hyper-capitalism, and documented history of lies, I am not convinced this is accurate. She is more akin to a political commentator, such as Ben Shapiro or Candace Owens, than any true such human rights activist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.36.1.58 (talk) 21:55, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Sources in the article refer to her as a "Human rights activist". Also, being a political commentator doesn't mean she can't be a human rights activist. I'd recommend commenting on the article's Talk page if you feel that it should be changed. Hydrogenation (talk) 22:11, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
I've added a new section to the article's talk page. It is a horrendously biased and favorable account. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.36.1.58 (talk) 22:52, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Brian Stock

Hi, this message is for Hydrogenation. I recently made changes to the Wikipedia entry for Brian Stock (historian) and then received a message (the number/ref code is in the subject line). I'd like to clarify that I made these changes at the request of Prof Stock. He sent me a copy of his CV and asked for these changes to be entered on his Wikipedia page. Because his CV is not online or in a published source, it cannot be referenced. I can send you his CV or a copy of the email that he sent to me if you need verification. Could you suggest a way that I could post the summary about him so that it stays? In his view the current summary is disorganized and needs to be changed. Thanks for your help, SP 64.110.237.162 (talk) 22:05, 14 June 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.110.237.162 (talk)

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I think ColinFine and David notMD summed it up well on the Teahouse: Wikipedia's policy on reliable sources and verifiability is that sources have to be published online to be included. You might still be able to find some reliable sources online that you can use if you want to improve the article. Hydrogenation (talk) 15:24, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
P.S. The article does look like it could use some fixing; I would recommend looking through WP:BLP, WP:BIODD, WP:BLPDD, and MOS:BIO if you want to learn how to improve it. Good luck! Hydrogenation (talk) 15:39, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Aaron Turner

Hi, this message is for Hydrogenation. I recently made changes to the Wikipedia entry for Usenet personalities (specifically, Alexander Abian). I'm not sure that I can prove it (other than by searching usenet), but the anecdote that I described was 100% accurate and true (to the best of my recollection). I don't really see how one can judge my (admittedly rather positive) addition to be non-neutral, when the article itself is clearly non-neutral in the way that it describes Professor Abian - from the way the article currently reads, it would be very easy to dismiss him as a crackpot, when in fact he was a very great man, although clearly ill in his old age. As someone who actually interacted with him (albeit only via usenet) while he was still living, I was just trying to restore some balance - otherwise, the way that he is (currently unfairly IMO) recorded on the internet will persist forever. Please consider re-instating my edits. Thank you.

Hey, I'd recommend reading Wikipedia's policy on neutral point of view. The article mostly discusses his eccentric beliefs because that's what most sources discuss about him. He isn't being called a crackpot; instead, the facts are being presented, and the reader may or may not come to that conclusion. In addition, the anecdote must be published by a reliable source to be included. If you still feel like the article needs to be changed, you can leave a message on its talk page. Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. —FORMALDUDE(talk) 03:20, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Hmm, I'm not sure why I didn't give a warning; I usually do. Hydrogenation (talk) 15:17, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Information icon Please refrain from abusing warning or blocking templates, as you did to User talk:193.207.163.243. Doing so is a violation of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please use the user warnings sandbox for any tests you may want to do, or take a look at our introduction page to learn more about contributing to the encyclopedia. Thank you. Drill it (talk) 16:16, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

I realized my mistake too late, and apologized on his talk page. I should have realized that the sandbox isn't that large. My apologies. Hydrogenation (talk) 16:18, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Part of Your World

Hi, this message is for Hydrogenation. I recently made changes to the "Part of Your World" Wikipedia article page. I just saw the latest Apple iPad Pro ad on TV lately and I heard the people on screen singing the song "Part of Your World" the whole time during the ad. I don't really see how you think that the edit I made did not provide a reliable source in the article. I know you removed it and it is archived in the page history for now, and I would like to include a citation and re-add it to the page. In my honest opinion, I would probably think you made a mistake in removing the edit and did not think that the edit on the page requires a reliable source. Please consider re-instating my edits. Thank you.

Sorry for the late response. I just re-added the edit with a citation. On Wikipedia, information needs reliable sources; even if things are true, they need citations to be verifiable. That being said, it is a good inclusion to the article, so thank you for that! Hydrogenation (talk) 15:12, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Nice edits

Well I was patrolling recent changes and saw your account and looked you up on x-tools, and according to this you made >3,000 edits in a month... consider taking a wikibreak to prevent getting burnt out, and consider applying for rollbacker or pending changes reviewer permissions, you do have a slight chance of getting rejected due to the 2 warnings above but I'll argue that it's unlikely due to them both being quite minor mistakes. Justiyaya (talk) 18:57, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Also, if you need a userpage please tell me, I'll make it for you :) Justiyaya (talk) 18:59, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the consideration! I've been thinking about making a userpage, and I probably will soon. Hydrogenation (talk) 19:00, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Recent edit

I recently added detail to a master oogway script involving his full name and it was reverted. I also added specific scene examples to make it more detailed so I was just wondering why my information has been reverted Baty oogway (talk) 23:39, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I couldn't find any sources that confirm his full name to be "Grand Baty Master Oogway". If you have a reliable source, feel free to cite it. Hydrogenation (talk) 23:44, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

My reliable source is J.O.E Baty oogway (talk) 00:16, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Grand Baty Master Oogway

Would you need a link from an article as I am not quite sure what counts as a creditable source as there are many videos and manuscripts of Grand Baty Master Oogway being the full name Baty oogway (talk) 23:58, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Just doing a quick Google search yields no results, as does the original Kung Fu Panda script, so I doubt that there are any sources that confirm that to be his name. But if you think the source is reliable, and meets the reliability guidelines, then add it. If you're still not sure, you can ask at Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard. Just remember, Wikipedia is not for things made up one day. Hydrogenation (talk) 00:06, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
