A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Nsba1937/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. April 2024[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:39, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

Hi! Apologies for the initial submission appearing spammy; my name is Chana Elgin, and I am an employee of NSBA, the National Small Business Association, and I was attempting to establish a Wikipedia entry for our organization. I am full-time salaried employee with NSBA, so I am paid for this work, but our intention is not to advertise, rather, we would like to have a result return in Wikipedia to highlight our contributions to the small-business community, as well as how our membership has helped educate Congress and the administration to better craft more effective small-business policy. If I may be able, could we adjust my username (I, personally, did not want to establish a page for NSBA under a personal page thinking about potential shifts in positions in the future, but happy to be more transparent in that regard, of course), and I would like to be able to submit the content with a different syntax, with more focus on a historic record of our achievements and less advertisements of dates for upcoming programming. Would it be better if I simply created a new account? Am I even able to edit the initial text I submitted, or has it been "speedily" deleted from the internet forever? Thank you for your help and considerations. I appreciate your consideration of my attempt to reconcile the issues with the exercise.

Decline reason:

You have proposed your new username as "Your proposed new Celgin3"; I assume you don't want "your proposed new" in your username- "Celgin3" is fine. We're going to want to see you demonstrate your understanding of relevant Wikipedia policies by building up a good edit history of edits in areas unrelated to your conflict of interest and paid status(which the Terms of Use require to be formally declared) before permitting you to indirectly contribute about your organization. If that's okay with you, please tell what topics you might edit about. If you have no other interest here, this is the end of the road. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:54, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a directory, so an organization is not entitled to have a Wikipedia article just because it exists. All topics must be notable by Wikipedia's definition to merit inclusion. In the specific case of an organization, it must meet the notability criteria for companies and organizations. For this to happen, the organization must have already received significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources.

We have no interest in what the organization wishes to say about itself, as this is an inherent conflict of interest. Wikipedia is not to be used for promotion, or as a marketing tool to enhance your company's search engine results.

Since you are employed by the organization that you are writing about, you are by Wikipedia's definition a paid editor. As such, you are bound by the mandatory policy of disclosure of paid editing. And if you are being directed by your superiors to do this work, you and they should both review Wikipedia:When your boss tells you to edit Wikipedia. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 21:46, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thank you for all of this information, and no problem to comply with the points. Some notable recent news coverage about NSBA can be found in the WSJ, Forbes, Washington Post and NYT, particularly focused on our lawsuit against the Treasury and the Coporate Transparency Act (CTA), a law that a federal court has already found as unconstitutional. The case is continuing to circuit court for appeal, and we have already begun preparations to argue this case before the Supreme Court; perhaps we can focus the new NSBA entry on the progression of the CTA to reconcile the issues you've highlighted? Thank you again for all of your help! Nsba1937 (talk) 13:28, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • I too urge you to read WP:BOSS and have your superiors read it too. "Deletion" as was done to your text simply conceals the text from the general public, it is still accessible to administrators, if you need it for some purpose, an administrator can email it to you, but it will not be restored to Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 07:54, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, are we able to resubmit new, more cited text for consideration to be uploaded, particularly focused on reports related to the CTA? 2601:183:427F:B9E0:91DD:769F:6267:6FB5 (talk) 17:01, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
