Welcome to MY talk page.
House Rules
  1. I may or may not respond to a post you make here on this page.
  2. If I revert or remove your post from my page, it could be that I do not find the discussion germane to me, I will try to respond, but if I don't, you will survive, I'm sure. Alternately it could be that I find something in the posting to be preachy or pedantic, in which case I will simply revert or remove your post. I am busy living my life, and if I hit one button rather than another, on my own talk page, not some vandal, and really don't need to be roasted. I'm often very close to being in trouble, but jerks need to be called out. Whiny editors threaten with "I'll get your x taken away" or "you'll never make admin"... Take note - if I wanted that I would already be one. In the words of Jimbo Wales, I'm a good contributor, and so cutting me some slack is a very reasonable thing to do.
  3. This is not your talk page, this is my talk page, and I do not allow edit wars on here. If you are a legal positivist, if the "rules" of Wikipedia in your mind overrule respect for the privacy and pages of others, you have your own talkpage which is your own playground to do exactly what you wish. This is not it, and you are not welcome to it.
  4. Friends and colleagues are most welcome, and none of the above is meant for you..

Effective immediately, any visitor to this talk page may delete any "Image rationale" bot notification at will (specifically any and all messages from Betacommandbot and related bots), once they have dealt with the warning. I have no desire to archive them, so they may be deleted once addressed.

What part of WP:NAME are you referring to in this edit summary? It is my understanding that bracketed titles are for disambiguation purposes. I.e. you would be justified in moving Federal Office of Police to Federal Office of Police (Swiss) (not Federal Police (Swiss)) if (and only if) Federal Office of Police was made into a disambiguation page at the same time, referencing other entities called Federal Office of Police. --dab () 17:04, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes

[edit]

"This world is an uncertain realm, filled with danger. Honor undermined by the pursuit of power, freedom sacrificed when the weak are oppressed by the strong. But there are those who oppose these powerful forces, who dedicate their lives to truth, honor, and freedom..."

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.

Please see Duplicate categorization rule

[edit]

Doesn't it seem odd that under Category:Motorcycle manufacturers, you don't see Harley-Davidson or Kawasaki or any other name except (at the moment) Jawa Motors? Why would Jawa be categorized differently than hundreds of other motorcycle makers?

Please see Wikipedia:DUPCAT#Duplicate_categorization_rule. Category:Motorcycle manufacturers of Czechoslovakia is a member of Category:Motorcycle manufacturers by country and that is a member of Category:Motorcycle manufacturers. --Dbratland (talk) 18:53, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Another False alert due to WP mirror

[edit]

Removed This alert happened when I was doing an article split-out. The "source" is a WP mirror or cut-and-paste of the article I was splitting out from. --Degen Earthfast (talk) 17:04, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please make sure that you follow the advice at Wikipedia:Splitting when splitting articles. Specifically, you didn't note in the edit history of this article that the content was being copied (you have to do this for copyright reasons). Hut 8.5 19:47, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About PRCS

[edit]

Hi there. You added some information to the article on the Palestine Red Crescent Society that I believe requires some clarification. I have asked for some on the talk page there. While searching for the sources you used, I noticed the same information at Emergency Medical Services in Israel (which you also added - verbatim). I have removed that latter addition (its a copyright violation when not attributed to your earlier edit and as it requires clarification where you first added it, I would appreciate you do that first before re-adding it elsewhere). Waiting for your comments at the talk page. Thanks. Tiamuttalk 20:36, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for providing the link to the report Degen Earthfast. In case you did not notice, the speaker/author of that section iis the Israeli Ministry of Health and not the WHO itself. So when you added the information as though it were the WHO speaking, that was slightly misleading. As such, I've removed that. I also removed it because a 2003 report cannot counter a 2009 report. Thanks again for providing your source. Happy editing. Tiamuttalk 19:33, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is not the WHO sepaking. That part of the report is by the ISraeli Minisry of Health. Its clear as day. Please self-revert. Tiamuttalk 07:47, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! I tagged your article Reparto volanti as needing translation to English. There is actually only one sentence in the opening paragraph written in Italian. I would fix it myself but I don't know enough Italian to order spaghetti. Cheers! Ivanvector (talk) 22:43, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like another user already fixed the sentence. No worries about the edit on my userpage, thanks for pointing it out and fixing it. Ivanvector (talk) 19:21, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I really like the quotes under this heading on your User Page. One and Two are especially poignant. All true? Any source for these?

Hi Degen,

You just removed the bit "without naming Israel" from the international reaction section.

As per the discussion page this was included to maintain neutrality since the UN specifically changed its wording to not mention Israel. But you have a good point.

How about "without placing blame on either party involved"?

That seems more neutral to me anyway ... what do you think?

Zuchinni one (talk) 15:30, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for getting back to me. I think that given the violence on both sides it helps to clarify the UN's position. But I'm also open to other ways of wording it.

In either case I'll leave it up to you to edit as you see fit. Zuchinni one (talk) 15:41, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on AirQuest Aviation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 16:02, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with AirQuest Aviation. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. ttonyb (talk) 23:19, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Atlantis Rising (book) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:BK notability guideline.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ScienceApologist (talk) 22:57, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Atlantis Rising (book), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Atlantis Rising (book). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. ScienceApologist (talk) 14:40, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for finding all those articles that were not list. You may want to avoid, however, adding companies that do not yet have articles, so that your work is not simply undone. -AndrewDressel (talk) 18:19, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:NEXT.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:NEXT.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here. What a strange thing to say. 72.10 was clearly referring to the discrepancy between popular votes and electoral college votes, not the unpleasantness in Florida. This happened previously in 1876, and 1888. I don't know if Samuel J. Tilden "conceded" or not, but it doesn't matter, Rutherford B. Hayes won the election even though everyone agrees that Tilden got more votes. APL (talk) 17:54, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Embraer ERJ 145 family a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Orphaned non-free image File:ProneBicycleCompanyLogo.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:ProneBicycleCompanyLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:48, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hercules

[edit]

I have blanked your efforts at Hercules Fahrrad GmbH & Co and reverted your blank/redirect at Hercules (motorcycle). There are two reasons for this. Firstly, if you want to rename an article you don't blank it, you move it. It is critical to maintain Wikipedia's licensing that edit history is preserved. Secondly your edits to Hercules Fahrrad GmbH & Co seemed to be a direct copy/paste from a google translation of the German Wikipedia article. If you look at Wikipedia:Translation you will see the key point, highlighted in bold that "an unedited machine translation, left as a Wikipedia article, is worse than nothing" and furthermore that proper credit must be given to the original version to avoid copyright infringement. So, if you do want to include elements from the German article, then by all means do but add them to the existing article, finish the machine translation by removing any grammatical howlers, and give proper credit to the German version. --Biker Biker (talk) 08:06, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. What you did at Ripstik ‎was definitely not a minor edit. Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is What to do with uncredited and machine-translated versions of foreign language Wikipedia articles?. Thank you. --Biker Biker (talk) 09:23, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hercules Fahrrad GmbH & Co requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Biker Biker (talk) 11:13, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Certainly, you can translate articles from one project to another, but since the originals are not public domain, there are attribution issues necessary to avoid creating copyright problems. Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia explains what to do. It seems, though, that there may be consensus against dropping in unmodified machine translations at Wikipedia:Translation. You'll need to work through that issue if you wish to continue with translating content. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:27, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. As a Italian-speaking WikiGnome, I'd like to solicit your help in testing a new tool. For a few years now, the Red Link Recovery Project has been using the Red Link Recovery Live tool to track down and fix unnecessarily red links in articles. Recently, the tool has been expanded to work on non-English Wikipedias. A small set of suggested fixes for red-links on the Italian-language Wikipedia have been prepared and I'm hoping to interest some Italian-language speakers (such as yourself) to work through them.

If you are interested, please visit http://toolserver.org/~tb/RLRL/quick.php?lang=it. Each time you refresh the page you'll be presented with three new suggested fixes. I'll be happy to answer any questions on the tools talk page. - TB (talk) 20:05, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Philadelphia photo requests

Since you are in Philadelphia right now, do you take photo requests? If so, I have a list of possibilities. Also, do you edit the Spanish Wikipedia? Hi. Why did you suddenly redirect this page without asking for consensus on the talk page? Yoninah (talk) 18:12, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your rationale. However, in Hebrew, caravanim is plural. Israelis call a single unit a caravan. Yoninah (talk) 20:52, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And thus our cunundrum. I believe that Caravanim will help keep it clear. DE--Degen Earthfast (talk) 21:42, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad you used the word "our". This page move should really be discussed on the talk page to gain consensus. Other interested editors who were involved in the deletion discussion in 2008, when the page was originally named Caravanim, should also be invited to weigh in.
BTW when you blanked and repasted the page, you deleted the entire page history. This is not how moves should be done. Yoninah (talk) 08:04, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Ha'argaz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Holy Pits! (talk) 19:51, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Biting Newbies

[edit]

Hi, I am currently teaching a new user how to edit (we happen to be staying in the same place right now). I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'setting up his account', but it would seem the mistakes of a very new user do not in any way constitute vandalism. It would be appropriate for someone of your standing to assume good faith and ensure that new users are welcome.

Having said that, if you wish to open a sock-puppet investigation (which you are, of course, welcome to do), please do inform me and I will provide the relevant documents and proofs to CheckUsers or Arbcom as is appropriate. It would be nice of you to apologise to the user in question as they have done nothing more than make a newbie mistake. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 22:50, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why would you report this user for abuse when they haven't committed serious vandalism? I believe the G11 tag for Ha'argaz was possibly a good faith newbie mistake, not vandalism. Additionally, I'm not seeing anything that would warrant a CheckUser. SwisterTwister talk 01:17, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Colombian National Police Carabineros Badge.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

Orphaned non-free media (File:ColombianCarabinerosBadge.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ColombianCarabinerosBadge.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Ocelot Auto. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. You can't just override an AfD decision because you disagree with it. Consensus was reached that this company is non-notable, and the article you restored still has no reliable sources. List the article at WP:DRV rather than reverting the admin closing the deletion discussion. - filelakeshoe 16:42, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I can. Wikipedia IS NOT a democracy.--Degen Earthfast (talk) 17:11, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Wikipedia is not a democracy" doesn't mean "screw consensus and I can do whatever I want". You don't seem to have even contacted the admin who closed the AfD, which would be the right action here (WP:CLOSEAFD). Nor have you made any attempt to show that the company is notable or add references to the article. - filelakeshoe 09:37, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Umm, actually it does.

Dear Degan Earthfast,

We appear to be in conflict over examples of folding bicycles, but perhaps not. I removed MOBIC for being non notable, and you restored it with the explanation that it is "folding bike/folding bike company". I have suggested on Talk:Folding_bicycle#Notable_brands_and_manufacturers that we apply the same criteria to this list as is already working well elsewhere. I look forward to your comments there.

Hi Degen. I write this to let you know that I deleted the Clio V6 from that article as it was unsourced and seems very unlikely. The Clio V6 was a limited sport model. Also, I have doubts of many of the cars listed (as for example the Scala, the Fluence and the i10). File permission problem with File:British Dunelt 3 speed.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:British Dunelt 3 speed.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Psychonaut (talk) 09:53, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Securitas AG logo.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Securitas AG logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful.

Thank you. Werieth (talk) 03:17, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In future, I expect reverts which are destined to waste my time in reply to be accompanied by a note to my talk. Thanks. We've been through this before, so I'll keep this brief. This was a long and complicated merge, and if you disagree with it then you'll fix it properly. Otherwise I'll shortly be correcting the massive redundancy that you've just created by undoing the redirect at the merged page. Ministry of Defence Police

[edit]

Degen, please stop edit warring with me. The "Special Police Act" as you describe it, does not exist.... As you will see from the Special police force article. "Security Police" is not a term recognised by UK law or nomenclature. It may have use in other countries, but not within the United Kingdom or its overseas territories. The Ministry of Defence Police is a police force of civilian police officers attested as constable under the Ministry of Defence Police Act. There is a detailed description of their jurisdiction at Ministry of Defence Police jurisdiction. Why do you insist of forcing the term "Security Police" into the article? I should point out that the article has been stable for a considerable length of time and if you wish to insert new claims of status into it then the {burden of evidence lies with you to show that they are verifiable. I invited you to the talk page to discuss this but instead you simply reverted me for a second time, it's hardly the kind of behaviour I'd expect from a seemingly seasoned editor. Please discuss? 3RR at Horizon Air

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Horizon Air shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —Alex (Ashill | talk | contribs) 23:35, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of AirStar Executive Airways

[edit]

The article AirStar Executive Airways has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Poorly sourced, a quick Google search indicates nothing to indicate this passes WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 21:10, 27 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, ERC (AFV family)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, ERC (AFV family). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – ERC 90 Sagaie. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at ERC 90 Sagaie – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. noclador (talk) 18:34, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. A tag has been placed on File:Jordana Donostian, Ciano kondearekin (italiar politikaria) batera.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on Desert Air requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Nirbheek, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. "Alleged?" Then you should stop editing topics relating to political conspiracy theories (at a minimum). New accounts who can't agree with "debunked" are generally indefinitely blocked on the spot. September 2020 - Not adhering to neutral point of view

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Please do not add one sided statements into conflicts, your edit [5] has added WP:WEASEL words for a combatant while leaving the other combatant untouched. This is considered disruptive behavior and may lead to a permanent block. Resapp (talk) 14:34, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The word "purported" is discouraged from use as it adds unreferenced doubt, see MOS:ACCUSED. Besides you have not added such words under images released by Armenia, hence the NPOV was violated. Resapp (talk) 14:40, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have shown interest in Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Please identify the source of the material in your edits.

This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.

I've noticed that this guideline is not very well known, even among editors with tens of thousands of edits, so it isn't surprising that I point this out to some veteran editors, but there are some t's that you need to be crossed.S Philbrick(Talk) 14:51, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Degen Earthfast. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Swallow's nest".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 07:02, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Jordan Design and Development Bureau

[edit]

Hello Renamed user 0cc563c9a3a40570041dfc29f9be333d17629f23c2bf2ac31907b8552351b377,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Jordan Design and Development Bureau for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
