Outrageous bullying edit revert on Breast physics

Since you're clearly bullying me using your administrator status I have no recourse, but your revert of my edits to the Breast physics article are outrageous. I did not "attempt to make the case that any 'criticism' is a matter of uptight Westerners misappreciating sophisticated otaku culture" as you offensively and bullyingly mischaracterized my edits. Your vandalism of my edits is outrageous, offensive, and despicable, as is your threatening post on my talk page when the article and my edits have nothing whatsoever to do with "GamerGate". MarcelB612 (talk) 21:02, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

MarcelB612, since you have also commented to this effect at Talk:Breast physics, I will reply there. Sandstein 21:25, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

I notice that even you, as the closer, conveniently ignored the fact that not only does he meet WP:SOLDIER (yes, it's an essay!), but also meets WP:ANYBIO (which is most categorically not), which I also pointed out. Meeting WP:ANYBIO, as an SNG, does not require an article to also meet WP:GNG, which I also pointed out. So claiming my argument carried little weight does not sound very neutral to me. So now even citing a guideline carries little weight if the closer disagrees with it? -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:11, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Necrothesp, you did cite WP:GNG, but everybody else was of the view that its requirements are not met, which I also noted in the closure. Sandstein 11:27, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
No, I cited WP:ANYBIO, which is an SNG and which you did not mention. SNGs do not have to meet GNG, as WP:SNG quite clearly states! GNG is not the only notability standard; otherwise SNGs would not exist. I also linked to two lists which clearly show consensus for the retention of both officers of his rank and recipients of the CBE. I would prefer it if you relisted, since it would be nice to have opinions from a wider range of editors. Some editors who expressed opinions there never vote anything other than delete at AfD, which is not conducive to the expansion of Wikipedia. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:40, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
Necrothesp, you were also the only person who was of the view that WP:ANYBIO was met. Consensus was against you in this respect. I decline to relist the discussion because it was thorough enough to establish consensus to delete. That other editors may have fixed views about notability is not a reason to discount their views, or else I'd have to always discount your view too. Sandstein 11:46, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
I most certainly do not vote keep in every AfD! Mztourist, for example, seems to do so. I would also note that, if you reread it, most editors who contributed conveniently sidestepped even acknowledging the existence of ANYBIO, presumably because it would have undermined their stance, instead focusing only on the old trope that SOLDIER is "only an essay" and banging on about GNG, which, as I have already said, articles which pass SNGs are specifically not required to meet. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:52, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Concerning pronoun change of the page Karin Tidbeck

I would like to notify you on a mistake you made during administrative duty in regards of a pronoun change on the page for Karin Tidbeck. Their current pronoun are stated on their official webpage. I have also asked the author in question who confirmed their pronouns. Would it be necessary to put a reference in the article to change this information, or is it enough to just state it to you? (Ziweiw (talk) 11:47, 3 December 2020 (UTC))

Ziweiw, thanks for providing the source, I have updated the article accordingly. Sandstein 11:56, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Deletion of page Riya Basnet

Hi, It came to my notice that you had deleted a page Riya Basnet from the site. We do not find any proper justification for deleting the page. Riya was crowned Miss Nepal Earth 2019 in May 2019 and went on to compete in MIss Earth 2019. She also heads a non-profit company called Young roots and is actively involved in creating zero waste homes and schools in Nepal.

We would be grateful if you restore the page Riya Basnet.

Thanks (Anweshkc (talk) 03:41, 4 December 2020 (UTC))

Anweshkc, who is „we“? Sandstein 05:29, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

By we , I am referring to people who follow her page to get information about her. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anweshkc (talkcontribs) 08:24, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Anweshkc, your request to restore the page is declined because it neither links to nor addresses the discussion as a result of which the article was deleted. Sandstein 10:29, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

William H. Nation

We had an edit conflict on the Afd. Can you draftify the article please. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 22:07, 7 December 2020 (UTC).

Rich Farmbrough, I do not undelete or draftify pages, but you can ask at WP:REFUND. Sandstein 07:48, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Draftication?

Re Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RTGame, you may have missed my comment—do you have some objection to draftifying? {{u|Sdkb}}talk 22:12, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

Sdkb, not in particular, but consensus was to delete, not to draftify. Sandstein 07:47, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
Sandstein, there's rarely much thought given at AfD to deletion vs. draftification; none of the delete !voters objected to it, though, so I don't think there was any consensus against it. From your reply to Rich above, I see you don't seem to be a fan of it; I'll go through WP:REFUND if I have to but it'd be a lot simpler for you to just handle it as the closing admin. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 07:53, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
Sdkb, I do not draftify pages (unless there's consensus to do so at AfD) because I think draftspace is a bad idea. Sandstein 07:54, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Undeleting a page

Hi, you were the deciding admin on this AFD Discussion. Recently there was a lot of news surrounding Naum Koen. New coverage since the deletion:

  • apparently he holds an Israeli citizenship and his original name is Nachshon Nachshonov, which he changed few years ago in the past his name appeared in a lawsuit filed by a diamond dealer against the Diamond Exchange in Ramat Gan.[1][2]
  • There is lots of coverage of him being the broker for the deal selling 50% of Jerusalem FC to a Sheikh in UAE[3]
  • According to multiple articles he is the founder and financial backer of the Jewish Community Center in Dubai.[4][5]
  • His bid on Israir airlines[6][7]

P.S. I also see there is quite a lot of coverage mentioning him in Hebrew press when searching for "נאום כהן".

I have saved the original deleted page in my user space here. Do you think there is now enough notability to bring back the page? Shemtovca (talk) 17:13, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Shemtovca, I don't currently have the time to read these sources and form an opinion about this, sorry. Sandstein 17:52, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
thank you for your response Sandstein. Shemtovca (talk) 14:49, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Always disappointing to see an article you WP:HEYed get deleted. I know you don't restore deleted pages, but any objection if I ask over at WP:REFUND? SportingFlyer T·C 19:06, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

SportingFlyer, no. Sandstein 19:45, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

ITN recognition for Flavio Cotti

On 17 December 2020, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Flavio Cotti, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:28, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

Article deletion-Vasant Lad

I just saw that you've deleted and article about Vasant Lad. I had recognized the name so took a quick look to see what he's done. He is the author of 20 books at least. On a quick glance the books have ISBN numbers and are catalogued with the Library of Congress and so he is more than notable by our standards. I didn't realize there was a discussion on deletion of his biography and I see there are only a couple of comments. By our standards deletion of this article would seem to be inappropriate. I'm not sure what the next step should be. I am reluctant to get into any kind of fight over this or any subject that is considered to be fringe but this does seem to be a mistake on our part. Littleolive oil (talk) 19:15, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

Littleolive oil, please link to the article or AfD. Sandstein 19:20, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
I've linked above in the heading. It's red-linked since the article was just deleted. Littleolive oil (talk) 03:32, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Littleolive oil, I have no opinion about the person's notability but the decision to delete the article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vasant Lad (2nd nomination) was unanimous. You can recreate the article if you can address the AfD's notability concerns, but from what I can tell merely highlighting his publications wouldn't be enough: being a published author doesn't establish notability by our standards. See WP:BIO, WP:PROF. Sandstein 08:55, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm pretty sure Lad reaches our notability threshold given the number of books he's written and that he apparently brought Ayurveda to the West, but I'm also pretty sure I'd have a fight on my hands trying to prove my point and to write the article. I don't much like the fights so I'll let this go. I probably should not have brought this to you since all you did was close rather than take a position. Thanks very much for taking the time to respond anyway. Littleolive oil (talk) 09:44, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi there. It seemed to me that the consensus was to merge the Realms of Despair and the SMAUG article together into one, but instead both were merged to DikuMUD, and then User:czar proceeded to reduce and remove all content, including all mention of Realms of Despair completely. --Thoric (talk) 14:25, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Thoric, that's an editorial disagreement that will need to be resolved per WP:DR, sorry. Sandstein 17:20, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

City Furniture Page

Hello,

You deleted our business page in May 2020 for City Furniture. Would it be possible for you to reinstate page?

The company has been in business for 50 years in the Florida market. I am also a marketing manager for the company.

Thanks,

Robert Johnson robertj@city-furniture.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rjohnsont4l (talkcontribs) 15:48, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Rjohnsont4l, please see our page WP:COI. Given your interest in promoting your company, you should not be involved with (re)creating or editing the article. Sandstein 16:03, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Have a Happy Holidays!

— 15:59, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I hope you are well. I wanted to inquire with you about restoring the Alexis Weik article. It was deleted after an AfD found to not notable, but since then, the subject of the article was elected to the New York State Senate, which would automatically make the article notable, I believe. I’d like to restore the article and improve it. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Chelsea F.C.–Manchester United F.C. rivalry

Hey! I hope you are doing good and staying healthy during this pandemic. I want to create the article on Chelsea F.C.–Manchester United F.C. rivalry, but I found that someone had already created the article in the past and it was deleted by you. I wanted to know if I can create the article?

Adultfilmsinfo (talk) 18:45, 25 December 2020 (UTC)

Sorry, it would be deleted again if you do, because our discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chelsea F.C.–Manchester United F.C. rivalry unanimously concluded that our topic does not meet our inclusion criteria. Sandstein 19:01, 25 December 2020 (UTC)

Deletion review for Purple Numbers

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Purple Numbers. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. - just letting you know, cheers!  « Saper // @talk »  14:50, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

Your undo

Fair comment on EU–UK trade history [2], but your undo also restored POV wording and incorrect spelling. Are you going to improve these? EddieHugh (talk) 18:54, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

EddieHugh, I'll copy this to Talk:EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement and reply there. Sandstein 18:55, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

Mika Tosca

Just a question, if there was no consensus on deletion of Mike Tosca in the first week, shouldn't it have been renewed one more week, and then one more week if still no consensus? I may not be as experienced in Wiki as an Admin, but I thought this was the policy. Am I wrong? Expertwikiguy (talk) 18:53, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

Expertwikiguy, we have never had an article titled Mike Tosca. Sandstein 19:00, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry its Mika Tosca.Expertwikiguy (talk) 19:05, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
Expertwikiguy, deletion discussions normally run for seven days. They may be (but need not be) relisted if there has not been enough discussion to assess consensus. But in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mika Tosca, there was quite a lot of discussion, it's just that people didn't agree with each other. Sandstein 19:07, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
In which case it needs to be extended one more week. So why was it closed if there was not a consensus. When there is no consensus, the closure need to happen after 3 weeks and this didn't run for 3 weeks. Expertwikiguy (talk) 19:42, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
Expertwikiguy, no, even if there is no consensus a closure can and normally should occur after seven days. Sandstein 20:03, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
I don't understand what exactly the rules are. I have also seen clear cases where majority voted Keep or Delete and it should have been closed, but it got extended. Is it basically up to the viewing admin to make this decision?Expertwikiguy (talk) 02:07, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Expertwikiguy, yes. Sandstein 07:44, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

On 29 December 2020, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Trade negotiation between the UK and the EU, which you updated.
