- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Darius the Great, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:21, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
Hi Taha Danesh! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Darius the Great several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Darius the Great, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. HistoryofIran (talk) 11:27, 30 June 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 6
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ali al-Sistani, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Iranian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:56, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello. Thank you for you concern. despite the recourses Ali Sistani is Iranian and has a Iranian citizenship and if you go to his page on Arabic Wikipedia or in Persian they both say he has an Iranian citizenship and not an Iraqi citizenship. Taha Danesh (talk) 14:46, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Taha Danesh! Your additions to Operation Laylat al-Qadr have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Nobody (talk) 13:09, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will correct it. then I need to make it to my own word right? no other problems? Taha Danesh (talk) 13:14, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, you need to summarise sources using your own words. Also, Youtube videos are not regarded as a reliable source, see WP:RSPYT. Nobody (talk) 13:19, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- thank again. but there is a footage of Iranian drones being hit captured by a drone how can i reference it? Taha Danesh (talk) 13:29, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- The footage itself is a Primary source, better would be a news article or book that discuss the footage, that would be a Secondary source. Nobody (talk) 13:32, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- hi and thanks againg. I have changed it and added to the page, you think its better now? Taha Danesh (talk) 13:54, 28 November 2024 (UTC)

National varieties of English
[edit]Hello. In a recent edit to the page Grumman F-14 Tomcat, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.
For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 22:29, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

Warning
[edit]Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. --Paramandyr (talk) 18:18, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- This is a misunderstanding.
- I first asked @Remsense about this and requested permission to edit another section on the page, (User talk:Remsense#Rumi nationality), and he permitted me, so I edited it again. I understand your concern, though. Thank you very much. Taha Danesh (talk) 18:26, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- I think they misunderstood what I said, and I could've been a bit more clear. They asked whether the infobox counted as well as the lead as far as MOS:ETHNICITY was concerned. I merely replied that the infobox is considered part of the lead, but didn't specifically say that it also falls under the same priority restrictions. If that was the case, I apologize for the misunderstanding. Remsense ‥ 论 18:28, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
