Figures

[edit]

I removed twice the figure that you have added. T here are multiple reason for that:

  • A figure must not replace the text of the article. It must illustrate it. So a figure must correspond to the content of the section to which it is added. This is not the case here.
  • Your figures are not about the sine function but about sinusoidal curves. So, they are misplaced in the lead, and also in the article, unless a section about sinusoidal curves would be added.
  • Before adding a new figure, you must verify ehether there are better figures in Wikipedia Commons, where there are plenty figures about trigonimetric functions.
  • As far as possible, figures must not contain text of formulas, since this cannot be editet without changing the figure.
  • If formulas appear in the figure, they must respect the manual of style MOS:FORMULA. In particular variables must be in italic.

In any case, if you think that a figure is lacking in an article, please discuss firt on the talk page of the article, to see whether other editors agree with your project.

Hoping you will enjoy with contributing to Wikipedia, yours. D.Lazard (talk) 15:33, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking

[edit]

As outlined in MOS:OVERLINK we generally do not link everyday words that people generally know. Miner Editor (talk) 22:23, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop overlinking. Please. Please. Please. I've reverted several of your edits. So, please, please stop MOS:OVERLINK. Masterhatch (talk) 09:49, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hoist (device), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Device. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:10, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Stream, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please read MOS:OVERLINK and do not link country names and common words. CodeTalker (talk) 01:47, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have just reviewed your edits over the past few months and I find that almost all of them are adding inappropriate hyperlinks contrary to MOS:OVERLINK. You were warned about this by Miner Editor last June, but you are still continuing to do this. Please STOP adding these unnecessary and inappropriate links. CodeTalker (talk) 02:11, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

overlinking and none

[edit]

I aleady left a comment about asking you to please stop MOS:OVERLINK. I'm also now asking you to read WP:SDNONE. Pease stop changing "none" in the short description. Thanks! Masterhatch (talk) 09:56, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed most of your edits are adding links. Some of them make sense, but many don't and are overlinking. Since adding links seems to float your boat, have you thought about Wikipedia:WikiProject Orphanage? Now that's a place that needs more links. Masterhatch (talk) 20:18, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
