Comment This poorly named file used to be the main infobox image for Nazi concentration camp commandant Franz Ziereis until this edit. As this is a historic encyclopedic photo, perhaps it can be uploaded to Commons (and renamed) instead of being deleted. Just checked and it is not already there; and a category for him exists: commons:Category:Franz_Ziereis Prhartcom (talk) 21:28, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I searched around and found [1], which is a better scan of the same photo and which the source site says it public domain. [2] is an even better scan of the photo (direct page link [3]). I have uploaded it to File:Portrait of SS Standartenfuehrer Franz Ziereis.jpg, so I don't see any problem with deleting this one as redundant and inferior. --B (talk) 12:52, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

B, can you please educate me: What is the purpose of any Wikipedia file description page such as the one you created for this file which is only a reflection of the Commons file description page? @Prhartcom, there is almost always no purpose for a Wikipedia description page and it will usually be immediately deleted if someone mistakenly creates one. The only time I can think of that a Commons image will have a Wikipedia description page is if it is a Featured Picture or Featured Picture Candidate. --B (talk) 17:37, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
