Fails WP:NFCC#8 as its omission would not be detrimental to understanding of the article. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 07:03, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If I am not entirely mistaken, "detrimental to understanding" is understood in consideration of "significantly increasing readers' understanding". This was used along File:Raja Ravi Varma, In Contemplation.jpg, a painting by Raja Ravi Varma to illustrate the close resemblance of the painting in the film frame. Since Ravi Varma resemblance is a major component of the film and its aesthetics amply covered by sources, it may be considered that visual resemblance can only be understood by using images, static, moving or interactive. Thank you. Aditya(talkcontribs) 11:12, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We are going to use the Raja Ravi Verma original for the purpose of making readers significantly understand the subject. We use plenty such free images in film related articles where we want to show that a certain scene was inspired from such a such original art work. We do not necessarily have to present the both images to drive that point in. For example Kahaani uses a free File:Pratima Visarjan by Gaganendranath Tagore.png but does not provide a screenshot of the film as evidence. We also see various free images of shoot locations being used in film articles, like say in Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!, Mother India and more; but do not add screenshots as evidence to prove resemblance or such. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 12:14, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Then I guess you need to remove and delete the image. Okay then. I hope the discussion can close now. Aditya(talkcontribs) 04:52, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to be simple color, but I'm discussing it just in case. Note this is an English work, so it is original enough to be kept here, but should it be PD or FUR? © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 06:19, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Image seems simple enough to fall below the threshold of originality. Suggest changing the licensing to "PD-simple". Salavat (talk) 03:44, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
