- User:Skier Dude, to clarify, what is required in order to prove the license? i am actually working in the company and was given permission to upload the image directly from the art department - what do i need to do? do i need to resize the image? Cheers Nkf31 (talk) 06:36, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Claims of "I have permission..." must be confirmed through the WP:OTRS system. The image also should be templated as {{non-free magazine cover}} and not as it is currently. Skier Dude (talk) 06:24, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Note: This image is currently tagged as non-free. If there is a dispute with the rationale, please tag the image with {{dfu}} or list it at WP:Non-free content review. Otherwise, unless there is another reason for listing here, the listing will be closed by an administrator and the image kept. AnomieBOT⚡ 02:07, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Upload log says "High Definition photo provided by: ALSTOM Power Boiler GmbH Augsburgerstr.712 70329 Stuttgart Tel.: 0711/ 917-1558 / Mobil: 0176/ 11 917 281 michael.wittwer@transport.alstom.com www.transport.alstom.com Copyright ALSTOM Transport / (Photo by Stophl)". Multi-license claims own work. Not at all obvious that ALSTOM intended to free this publicity shot simply by supplying it to the uploader. Angus McLellan (Talk) 13:40, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- The Flickr page for this image does show a CC license as claimed (although the license tags the uploader used claim "own work"). Unfortunately for us the license on Flickr is CC non-commercial,
no-derivatives[oops] and this image is insufficiently free. Angus McLellan (Talk) 13:44, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Uploader mistagged as own work when source is Flickr. This would usually be easy to fix, but not when the Flickr page shows a CC non-commercial license. Not free enough I think. Angus McLellan (Talk) 13:47, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Same as previous. Tags wrong but the real problem is that the Flickr page for the image shows the CC license to be CC-BY-NC-SA so that this image is not free enough. Angus McLellan (Talk) 13:51, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Again, bad tags but is CC licensed. However the Flickr page shows this to be the not-free-enough CC-BY-NC-SA non-commercial version. Angus McLellan (Talk) 13:53, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Again, bad tags. Flickr image page shows "all rights reserved". Uploader's record with image licenses shows good will but a poor understanding of our license policies. It's possible that the license on Flickr once was CC, but even if we accepted that we can't assume that it was the right sort of Creative Commons license. - Although the uploader states that this image was released with the photographer's permission, their upload log and the previous six nominations here do not suggest that they had much understanding of our license policies, and that it is unsafe to assume that the photographer gave informed consent to this release.
