- Not sure. The template is the closest we have to a "list of Chief Justice positions of Commonwealth countries". We also have Chief Justice which includes a list. But one is an XNR and the other is not an exact topic match... Deryck C. 21:40, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. This is a viable topic for a standalone article, and hopefully a redlink will encourage article creation. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 19:58, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- Weak keep. In this case the template is the most useful target that we have for the searching user, so the cross namespace redirect is actually useful. If we really want an article, the closer should just copy the template, turn it into a list with the template at the bottom, and do a few wikifications. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 04:36, 23 June 2016 (UTC)

This redirect must've been meant to link to a section on the player on that page (we use these pages to incubate biographies that are near but not yet notable per GNG). But there's nothing here on this individual as the player has been inactive since 2010. There's no reason to keep this redirect. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:21, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

Delete This redirect title is too vague. There are dozens of notable Stanford swimmers; to make it be specifically about this subject is WP:RECENTISM. There is already a redirect from "Stanford rapist", isn't that enough? MelanieN (talk) 18:52, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- Stanford rapist is a BLP problem since the rape charges against Brock were dropped. Him being known as a swimmer is not controversial though. Ranze (talk) 00:48, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- Delete (or re-target to Stanford Cardinal) - highly recentistic. Neutralitytalk 19:01, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- Keep if you search this phrase it refers to this case. A dozen of our sources use this phrase to refer to Brock. No other swimmers from Stanford have this kind of notability associated with the phrase, try Googling it. If you know of anyone else knoen by the phrase well enough that is grounds for discussion of expanding into a disambiguation page but not deletion. Ranze (talk) 00:48, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- Delete vague. Needs to be a more specific search like Stanford swimmer rape case. 02:07, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- bad logic, there is no rape case, the charges were quickly dropped. Ranze (talk) 08:10, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. There are a number of famous Stanford alums who are well known for their accomplishments as swimmers (see, e.g., Tara Kirk, Susan von der Lippe, Mike Bruner, and Greg Buckingham). If the Stanford swim team had an article, then we should redirect readers there; anything else will likely WP:ASTONISH once this case is no longer front page news. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 02:08, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
- if at some point Brock is no longer the top result then I would be all for redirecting this to what is, or making it a disambiguation page, but that is no reason to empty the space. Ranze (talk) 08:10, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- Delete per nom, not reasonable to assume this term must refer to the criminal.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 01:16, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- why not? He is the top result if you search. By your logic it would not be reasonable to assume "pulse nightclub" refers to the Orlando location. After all I could be talking about the one in Oshawa. Ranze (talk) 08:10, 21 June 2016 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was delete. Consensus is that the current targets are inappropriate and that there is not an appropriate retargeting option available. I think it's reasonable that this consensus should apply to the other redirects currently at Category:Redirects from a tzid, so those will be taken care of also. -- Tavix (talk) 22:27, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

What a can of worms! First, I just came across "Europe/Luxembourg". I thought this would be a very old link that just meant Luxembourg, but apparently it's a way of denoting a time zone. Now, with this notation, how does, say, Europe/Oslo differ from Europe/Amsterdam? And they from Central European Time?
It got worse when I investigated the matter further. So far, I've only looked at the European members of Category:Redirects from a tzid. Should these have their own articles, like the ones on Oslo and Amsterdam? Should they redirect to a list, like Zagreb does? Simply to the city they correspond to (I oppose this as unhelpful)? Relevant articles on time in that area? Or should we just delete the lot? --BDD (talk) 17:45, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- Comment. Not sure right now, but either way, the nominated redirect seems eligible for WP:G5. Steel1943 (talk) 17:49, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) with me adding the additional entries. --BDD (talk) 18:06, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- Looks like all but 3 of them may qualify for WP:G5. Europe/Andorra and Europe/Zagreb were redirects created by the ban-evading sock that were converted to articles by a different editor, but were then reconverted to redirects. Europe/Nicosia was created by a different editor than the ban-evading sock. Steel1943 (talk) 18:14, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) with me adding the additional entries. --BDD (talk) 18:06, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- The difference between Europe/Oslo and Central European Time is that Europe/Oslo sometimes shifts to Central European Summer Time. The difference between Europe/Oslo and Europe/Amsterdam is that they might not always have shifted between Central European Time and Central European Summer Time on the same dates. For example, I believe that Europe/Amsterdam referred to Central European Summer Time for a portion of 1977, 1978 and 1979 whereas I believe that Europe/Oslo referred to Central European Time for the entire duration of those years. The current targets are inappropriate. I'm not sure if there are other targets which are appropriate. --Stefan2 (talk) 18:17, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- Leaning delete Some of the listings at List of tz database time zones are just their own pages. Are these notable enough to get their own pages? If so, we should delete them per WP:REDLINK. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 18:24, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

- I feel it necessary to point something out: There are two meanings to the word "spray" -- one as in the history of the article, and the other as in the in-game term which indicates an inability to control a continuously firing weapon. Both actually are represented in reliable sources, so I'm leery to delete this one based on NOTWIKIA. Not mentioned in the article seems a legitimate deletion rationale for now, but I think there's potential there for at least one if not both to show up in that article or others in the family of articles. I don't see any connection between the redirect title and its target. It's possible that the redirect title is a game which was or will be published in the specified year, but the redirect isn't useful as the category page doesn't mention this. - Redirect There's a lot of issues with this list and I'm not sure if it's notability. The issues I can see are it's not up to date (content hasn't been updated since 2013 or 2014). It's not ordered by family names. I just don't see what it adds when the category and player pages tells the same thing. --SuperJew (talk) 06:18, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- Comment my thoughts as original creator of this list. This list has gotten to a point where it is too long and out of date to ever be completed in its current form. There could/should be a page under this title which limits players included by a certain minimum number of A-League appearances obtained (see for example List of Premier League players), pending decision as to what the appropriate number should be (no A-League player has 300 appearances (as is used in the Premier League list) yet) (200 seems appropriate to me (for now at least)). I don't think a redirect is helpful here. Macosal (talk) 09:12, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- Currently, a list of over-200 caps players will be 12 players, which is 2 more than the current table on the records page. Also I think that there's an issue that there aren't enough editors who will upkeep this. I can probably count on one hand the amount of editors currently active on A-League pages. --SuperJew (talk) 09:23, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- 12 right now, but likely to become over twenty within the next season (WP:CRYSTAL, I know - but if there were, say 20 or more, would your view change?). Such a list would also contain more detail than the records page list does. I don't think upkeep is an issue here - at minimum, this list would only require one update per season (and I would be more than happy to take an active role in creating/updating this page more regularly than that). But I do agree with you that the low editor number is a consideration in favour of reducing the current list which is far too lengthy to be maintained. Macosal (talk) 09:38, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Unexpected target. I'd expect to find an article about accelerators under this title, not a category. Stefan2 (talk) 11:15, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- information on AI accelerators is thin on the ground at the minute. I was thinking of Movidius VPU, Zeroth NPU, TrueNorth, google TPU (which wasn't even announced when I made the link) - and there's probably more to come. I would certainly agree it would make sense to see an AI accelerator article. How about linking to a glossary def in Glossary of computer hardware terms#AI accelerator? or what about a List of AI accelerators page to bridge the gap? Also at the minute there is no consensus on the 'collective noun'; vendors are trying to claim the space as their own and pushing their own terms; indeed there *are* differences in how they operate, which are better described in specific implementations. It mirrors the evolution of graphics hardware, where there were many accelerators and eventually everyone adopted Nidia's GPU as the "collective noun" (which originally, was a vendor-specific term). I think we should have a wikipedia article dealing with these accelerators under a neutral term before any one vendor claims the entire space. On another note, couldn't the wikimedia platform be extended to handle list-of/categories more seamlessly IMO when there is ambiguity about which to use it points to software features or options yet to be added.. I think glossaries, lists, categories could be unified, e.g. imagine if you had a 'micro article' template that specifies a trivial page is really intended to have its content added to a list, and if regular pages could also mark summary text). Such lists would then benefit from the ability of the software to sort (e.g. intersections) Fmadd (talk) 13:37, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- Retarget to a mainspace page article if possible or delete. The creator has convinced me that this title qualifies for WP:REDLINK. At the same time, maybe deleting the category should be investigated as well. Steel1943 (talk) 15:56, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

Seems to be a bit of an WP:XY situation between Bead and Beadwork. Either delete or retarget to Wiktionary (wikt:beaded). Steel1943 (talk) 22:58, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Comment It's a coin toss. Beadwork involves more stitching and sewing, while there's beaded curtains, which are just curtains made of strings of beads. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 01:56, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- Although it appears to be the situation in WP:XY, that essay is misleading as usually disambiguation pages or hatnotes are used (if the title can refer to any of multiple topics), or the redirect is pointed at one of the possible targets (where the topics are closely related and easily accessible from each other, as is the case here), only being deleted when multiple topics are mentioned in the title of the redirect (as in all of the examples). This redirect is more likely to be used by people looking for the adjective rather than the verb, so bead is a better redirect, but it may be better to disambiguate with bead and bead (woodworking) as the primary topic is less certain (either a separate disambiguation page or redirect to the existing one). - I was about to essentially withdraw this discussion with the "retarget" suggestion above, but then I remembered a concern I found while looking up the term "Big Elvis" on search engines. Either way, I now support the retarget to Pete Vallee option slightly over deletion. Steel1943 (talk) 04:16, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- It could always be hatnoted to Elvis Presley since of course he's bigger than any Big Elvises. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:34, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was no consensus between deleting and retargeting to Wikipedia:VfD renomination limits. This will default to retarget as the alternative to deletion since no one wants it kept as it. -- Tavix (talk) 23:01, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Three month VfD policy → WP:Deletion policy (links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Delete because it might cause confusion. The redirect was created in 2005, seemingly as part of a different policy discussion, WP:GNAA votes for deletion policy (marked inactive) which is the only incoming link to this redirect. The current target does not discuss the matter. Relevant pages, WP:Guide to deletion#Can I recreate an article that was deleted in the past?, WP:CSD#G5 and WP:Recreation of previously deleted pages, do not discuss three months and the latter is "failed" anyway. Sometimes a three-month waiting period is suggested (for example at DRV) but this is only on an ad hoc basis. Thincat (talk) 07:47, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Retarget Wikipedia:VfD renomination limits, whither the project page originally at this title was moved. VfD renomination limits also contains discussion on "three-month". In general, we should point deprecated or unadopted project-space titles pointing to relevant {{historical}} project pages. Deryck C. 15:22, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
- Weak delete. I was originally going to suggest "retarget to Wikipedia:VfD renomination limits" when I saw the redirect's edit history back on the day this redirect was nominated, but changed my mind after realizing how unhelpful that option would be for readers in "today's Wikipedia", given that the redirect's former target is a failed policy proposal for a WP:XFD forum that technically no longer exists. - Être → French conjugation (links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
This discussion established that it's not a good idea to redirect a french verb to an article on its conjugation. This originally targeted Romance copula, is that a better target or is it best to delete it? -- Tavix (talk) 04:16, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Note - they both actually target the section in French conjugation where this verb is conjugated. Also note the discussion link seems to be broken, I'm guessing because of all the collapses on the page. If you click through and end up on the bottom of the page, scroll up a bit to the discussion on redirects from various verb conjugations. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 14:35, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Keep - I think that discussion establised that it's not a good idea to redirect from the conjugated verb to an article on its conjugation, but these are both infinitive forms and match the section header at the article (French conjugation#Être). I think that makes them okay. I also think we could hatnote to the essay from the section in the conjugation article, as see-also or related reading. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 14:37, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

- Keep per Ivanvector. This is the best page on-wiki for this search term. Otherwise, soft redirect to Wiktionary per WP:NOTDIC and Template:Wiktionary Redirect because "Etre" and "Être" get 4 and 1 hits per day. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 04:53, 23 June 2016 (UTC)

- Stewart Parnell → Charles Stewart Parnell (links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
I'm not entirely sure what to do with this one. This was created a redirect to Peanut Corporation of America, as it is the name of one of the company's executives. A year and a half later, an IP retargeted it to its current target. There's absolutely no doubt that the Irish leader is primary topic over the peanut executive. But I don't think he was ever referred to solely by his middle and last names. A quick look at "stewart parnell" suggests the peanut executive might be sufficiently notable for a standalone article. For now, I would say retarget to the original article, Peanut Corporation of America, or delete. BDD (talk) 02:37, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Comment Charles Stewart Parnell is undoubtedly the primary topic here and his name is well known. I looked at Google and saw quite a few results about the peanut executive, but unless someone creates an article on the executive then I think it should stay as it is. If someone does create an article, then maybe a disambig page would be more appropriate. st170etalk 14:44, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Does he go by Stewart though? That determines whether it should be the primary topic. If he doesn't, then the peanut guy should get the redirect and then hatnote to Charles AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:05, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- I've had a look through Google because I was convinced that some history books referred to him as Stewart Parnell, but in all the sources I've found on the news, Charles Stewart Parnell is always given his full name. Stewart Parnell has quite a lot of extensive coverage, albeit for all the wrong reasons so I think therefore that a retarget to Peanut Corporation of America is plausible with a hatnote to CSP. st170etalk 22:07, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
