Implausible redirect, created in 2007 by a vandalism-only account. gnu57 18:48, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I believe we can close this now. James-the-Charizard (talk) 12:30, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target, nor is there any obvious connection between the redirect phrase and the target. Appears to have been created by accident as a result of moving pages out of a user sandbox. signed, Rosguill talk 18:31, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Created alongside another 30-odd spellings of Adamovsky's name, I don't think misspelling as "Andrew" is particularly likely, as English sources call him Andrei or Andrey. signed, Rosguill talk 17:47, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all Andrey/Andrei is usually to me pronounced like Andre, the w at the end of Andrew has a distinctive sound that is dissimilar to Andrei/Andrey. They seem like implausible typos, and this amount of redirects seems quite WP:COSTLY. James-the-Charizard (talk) 18:07, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

C23H32N2 was created by mistake: formula of AB-005 has an O at the end of formula. There is no molecule in enWiki with formula C23H32N2. I propose to delete it. Gyimhu (talk) 14:47, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. If there is no Wikipedia article for any chemical compound that matches this molecular formula, the redirect should be deleted. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:47, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect tagged. * Pppery * ... ... ... 18:38, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: the correct chemical formula for that compound, C23H32N2O, exists and is sufficiently close to this incorrect one that nobody is likely to be left unable to find the article. Lithopsian (talk) 19:14, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Australia portal is too broad for these redirects. There is no expectation of finding content on these specific places at the current target. In fact, at the time I checked there is no mention of any of these places at the target. -- Tavix (talk) 14:17, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As a follow-up to Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2019 June 15#Portal:Darwin, Newcastle is a disambiguation page so this is ambiguous. Additionally, the current target is too broad; there is no expectation of finding Newcastle content at the Australia portal. -- Tavix (talk) 14:12, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as ambiguous, per the nomination. UnitedStatesian (talk) 17:49, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rotating chair[edit]

The result of the discussion was no consensus , defaulting to disambiguation, the option favoured by half of the participants, and the one accommodating some of the concerns of those recommending deletion and retargeting. (non-admin closure)Uanfala (talk) 11:13, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An unavoidable WP:SURPRISE. Not mentioned in the target article, and can be used to describe chairs such as office chairs. Steel1943 (talk) 23:04, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Maybe retarget to Swivel chair which is what a Google search for "rotating chair" brings up. PC78 (talk) 23:24, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disamb. Rotating chair is actually a thing some organizations do. This would be best served as a disambiguation page. –MJLTalk 16:45, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate with swivel chair. I agree that both the furniture and the organisation position are valid meanings of this title, and I can't convince myself that either of them is the primary target. Deryck C. 13:27, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Other types of chairs rotate, such as a barber chair. As with "Remote location", this feels like a non-idiomatic phrase that could refer to any chair (any sense) that rotates (any sense). --BDD (talk) 19:44, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ABC 7 News[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to ABC7. I believe this represents consensus since it fundamentally means disambiguating the title. Note that ABC 7 now redirects there. Perhaps this should be reversed, though? --BDD (talk) 19:20, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is WABC-TV really the best target for this redirect? ABC 7 News is the title for the newscasts on KGO-TV in San Francisco, WJLA-TV in Washington, WWSB in Sarasota, WZVN-TV in Naples/Fort Myers, KVIA-TV in El Paso, KVII-TV in Amarillo, and WVII-TV in Bangor (and, formerly, WLS-TV in Chicago) — but not WABC-TV, which calls its newscasts Channel 7 Eyewitness News and has never solely been ABC 7 News (the closest it came was a period from 1999–2004 when it was ABC 7 Eyewitness News). • Retarget to ABC7. Thank you to Feminist for relisting this, she had closed it as I was researching. ABC7 was prodded last year, citing Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television Stations/Archive 10#Station branding disambiguation pages However, perhaps more so than other channel numbers thanks to Circle 7, ABC 7 stations are specifically known by that name, making that a plausible search term and a disambiguation necessary. I also saw in that discussion complaints about maintenance—local TV stations change affiliation from time to time but having a disambiguation page that may be slightly out of date from time to time is a lot better than having nothing at all. Given my explanation and the above desire to disambiguate, I have contested the PROD on ABC7. That being said, the newscast of any ABC 7 station is going to be called some variant of "ABC 7 News" (formally or colloquially) so maintaining a separate disambiguation page is unnecessary. -- Tavix (talk) 13:24, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Tavix: Disambiguation was my first instinct because many stations go by ABC/NBC/CBS x News (x being channel number.) and I thought a disambiguation page would best due to multiple targets. James-the-Charizard (talk) 17:33, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
