There is a sockpuppetry case at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Voldemore. All users have similar editing interests [1], [2], [3], or [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], most of them have similar userpages and userboxes, none of them have voted in a mfd before and have jumped on this mfd (now closed as delete) about the subpages of Voldemore: [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] . The users have indicated that this was due to Voldemore sending emails to his friends [15] and they didn't know they were doing something wrong. However, in lights of new information, it appears that these users are very probably the same person and already engaged in similar behavior for a long time. OldRightist was known as OldRight (talk · contribs), and another involved user was Judson (talk · contribs). If I may add to this: I think it's time to end about four years of vote-stacking, mainly on AFD, by sock or meatpuppets organized by a single person. The oldest currently active account that connects them all is User:Crevaner. In 2004 he "collaborated" with Old Right (talk · contribs) and Judson (talk · contribs) on deletion debates, invariably agreeing on everything, in identical style, diction, and typography. This is where he was asked if it would be OK to check his IP back in 2004; see the thread "Bloc voting response" immediately below for response. Clearly this has been going on for a long time, and unfortunately most of the people who remember the issue have left the project. Obviously you can't check IPs from that long ago, but a checkuser of current vote-stacking, and simultaneous outing of any other socks, would be helpful. If this is true then, although I have no control or influence over the process, i'd like to see a hefty ban on all accounts. Of course, i could simply create 20 other accounts and get all my friends to ask for the same thing :P. Ironholds 21:54, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
