Not enough participants

[edit]

@ElijahPepe: Where do you see support from the discussion? Only five people have committed to joining this WikiProject. What makes you think this won't go the way of the three Google WikiProjects that already exist, Wikipedia:WikiProject Google, Wikipedia:WikiProject YouTube, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Alphabet? InfiniteNexus (talk) 02:55, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The other three Google WikiProjects lacked focus and commitment. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 03:07, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You could set yourself up as a subproject / task force of WikiProject Google — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:34, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikiprojects have been...what's the right word to say...not something that gains traction like in the past. Existed WPs seem to have established flows. I also suggest that if an Android central project wants to proceed - a task force within WP Google would benefit. – The Grid (talk) 16:37, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I too believe a task force would be more appropriate than a WikiProject. 5 people just manage to meet the threshold recommended by Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide/Task forces#Setting up a task force structure: a good number to start a task force with is five people; it may not be effective until it reaches 10 or so people. Previous discussion

[edit]

FYI, for those coming here because they saw {{WikiProject Android}} tags being mass-added to dozens of pages, the previous discussion that (improperly, in my opinion) led to the creation of this WikiProject can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Android (2nd nomination). Talk:Samsung Pay

[edit]

Something related to Android (as it runs Android OS): I've created a discussion on Talk:Samsung Pay asking whether Pay should be merged into Samsung Wallet. The company itself claims Pay and Pass services are now in one app named Wallet, but I'm not sure what it means in this context. Sparatys (talk) 14:39, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
