Concerning MCAT Pakistan

[edit]

Hi, you made a malformed request over at requests for protection which I have reverted. In any case, the disruption in the article doesn't rise to the level of needing any form of protection at the moment. Please read our protection policy if you have not done so already. Regards. Lectonar (talk) 10:32, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But look at the page history of MCAT Pakistan different IP addresses(which I believe belongs to the same person) are continuously removing the content that I have added Banksboomer (talk) 11:56, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for National Education Policy 2020

[edit]

On 28 August 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article National Education Policy 2020, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that under India's new education policy, students will be allowed to combine fashion studies with physics, or baking courses with chemistry? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/National Education Policy 2020. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, National Education Policy 2020), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Honorific titles

[edit]

I made some changes to the articles you created in line with WP:NCINDIC under #Titles and honorifics

"In keeping with the neutral nature of Wikipedia and wider policies, honorifics should generally not be included with names, unless they are part of an external quotation.

It is common in devotional texts to precede the name of deities (gods), and sometimes revered individuals with the English term 'lord', the Sanskrit 'sri' or other appellations. These should be omitted in Wikipedia articles and the simple name should be used; e.g. 'Krishna', not 'Sri Krishna', 'Lord Krishna' or other forms. Sometimes postfixes are found, most commonly the appending of the term 'ji'. This should also be omitted.

Styles such as 'His Excellency', 'The Honourable', and 'Hon'ble' should be omitted. Names of offices such as 'MP' or 'Chief Justice' should not be used either as a suffix or a prefix.

Exceptions may be made in cases where the subject is not known except with titles or other honorifics (i.e. when the honorific becomes part of the name), or where they become the best means of disambiguation. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biographies.

Below is a list of commonly used honorifics which should be questioned;

Lord (English)

Sri or Shri

Swami

" and so on.

This is why it is Laxminarayan Temple, and not Sri Laxminarayan Temple. Same with Ratneshwar Mahadev temple in UP.

I also changed the word "Mandir" in title to the English "Temple," in like with the general convention on Hindu Temples, Somnath temple. There are still pages that use Mandir, but I don't think those are correct either.

Hello, Banksboomer

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Rahul Dev (pilot), for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Þjarkur}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Thjarkur (talk) 20:47, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But the event is a notable one Wikipedia:Notability (events), as it has geographical scope. The Wikipedia page Wikipedia:Notability (events) defines geographical event as "Notable events usually have significant impact over a wide region, domain, or widespread societal group." The Rahul Dev being first Hindu to be a pilot in Pakistan army has significant impact on Pakistan and India ("wide region")and on the Hindu community ("widespread societal group") Banksboomer (talk) 03:40, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, this was a proposed deletion which is supposed to be uncontroversial, so if you oppose the article's deletion for any reason you can just remove the tag (I've removed the tag now). I think it would be unlikely that this subject would survive a deletion discussion since he only got minor coverage at the time and he doesn't have sustained coverage yet. – Thjarkur (talk) 10:20, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Hinduism in OMAN

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Hinduism in OMAN. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Hinduism in Oman. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Hinduism in Oman. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Lettlerhellocontribs 16:35, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Benjamin Diamary

[edit]

Thank you for your article on Benjamin Diamary.

It is a very bare article, that could use more information.

I have added rewrite and cleanup tags to the page, and added the {{LGBTQ-stub}} tag to the page.

If you are able to resource more information, please do so. --Whiteguru (talk) 00:53, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited United Nations General Assembly, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Palestine. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:56, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Kongu Vellalar, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. SUN EYE 1 15:52, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary Sanctions Notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Spelling

In various Sindhi district articles you recently wrote "seperately". The correct spelling is "separately". Jellysandwich0 (talk) 13:49, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
