Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello HiLux duck! Your additions to Hongqi HS3 have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 19:44, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Voorts. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Peugeot 3008, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. voorts (talk/contributions) 00:11, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:14, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
Hello, HiLux duck,
You mistakenly filled this out inappropriately. You posted it at the top of the page, new messages are posted at the bottom of pages and you only included one diff which is not a sign of edit warring at all and you didn't even sign your complaint with your signature. Given your other ill-formed complaint at WP:AN, I think you should keep clear of administrative boards until you can follow instructions appropriately and gain a LOT more editing experience because you are making a lot of very basic mistakes so it's hard to take your complaints seriously. You didn't even respond to the questions to your WP:AN complaint yet and you just can't post a complaint and then disappear. Noticeboard postings are a discussion and require you to invest time and effort into them.
If you have questions about appropriate use of noticeboards, please bring them to the Teahouse. I encourage you to ask a lot of questions so you don't keep making these errors. Liz Read! Talk! 07:12, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- You also didn't inform User:Andra Febrian of this ANEW complaint (just like you forgot to do with the WP:AN complaint) and this is a mandatory step any time you mention an editor on a noticeboard. Please take care of this immediately. Liz Read! Talk! 07:15, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Lincoln Star EV
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Lincoln Star EV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Hi, HiLux duck. It looked like you weren't done drafting this article, so I've moved it to Draft:Lincoln Star EV. Feel free to move it back once you've written more. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 07:08, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
Your edit on Alfa Romeo Tonale
[edit]In the Overview section, there was a sentence that said the car has been described variously as a "compact crossover", a "compact SUV", a "small SUV"...
. Each of these phrases in quote marks is followed by references that use those exact terms. You changed "compact SUV" to "subcompact luxury SUV" while retaining the three references that call it a "compact SUV", thus making it appear that the sources call it a "subcompact luxury SUV" when in reality they do not use that term. Misquoting a source is not acceptable. It also calls into question the other changes you made in the article to use the term "subcompact" without adding sources to support that language. You cannot remove the term "compact" since several sources use it. If you want to add the term "subcompact" in addition to "compact", provide sources that use that term. MrDavr?
[edit]I suspect that you may be a sockpuppet of MrDavr. Even if you're not, I suggest you study their edit pattern and avoid edit warring over these highly subjective car classifications. It is not a science and there is rarely a clear definition. Best, Mr.choppers | ✎ 09:45, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for imforming me. I am not aware of being a sockpuppet of "MrDavr". If you would like to further investigate, I am happy to share information with you.
- Kind regards, HiLux duck 10:01 am, 6 January 2025 (GMT+12)
- Your edits have been reverted by at least three different users. Stop reinstating them. When someone else reverts your edit, you bring it to the talk page and discuss it there. See WP:BRD and stop being a nuisance. Mr.choppers | ✎ 00:44, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Aehra Impeto moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Aehra Impeto. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Frost 12:41, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sockpuppet that was created to violate Wikipedia policy. Note that using multiple accounts is allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that all edits made while evading a block or ban may be reverted or deleted. If this account is not a sockpuppet, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below. HiLux duck (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am extremely sorry for edit warring and not following some Wikipedi policies. I would like to edit again and I will accept having administrators check my edits. I will not be such a nuisance to everyone this time. Please accept me, as I only mean for good intentions. I am not a sockpuppet and if you further investigate I will cooperate. HiLux duck (talk) 12:15 pm, Yesterday (UTC−9)
Decline reason:
I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you:
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 01:06, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- You weren't blocked for edit-warring; you were blocked because your edits are absolutely indistinguishable from long-blocked serial sockpuppteer User:MrDavr, making it fairly clear that you are evading that block with this account. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:54, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- I will cooperate with investigations. Please unblock me, I'm actually a minor that really likes cars. Email me:(Redacted)
- I add citations whenever editing, as on Genesis GV60, and many other pages.
- I am very sorry for acting suspicious as I have no intention of making wrong edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HiLux duck (talk • contribs) 22:19, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- (1) You should never post your personal email address online, especially if you are in fact a minor. I have redacted it for you and suppresed the edit. (2) You weren't blocked for citations, the lack thereof, or for "making wrong edits" per se, you were blocked because your editing perfectly matches that of a blocked editor. (3) Further supporting this is the fact your user page states you have been on Wikipedia since 2019, but this account was only created this past June - what previous account names have you edited under? - The Bushranger One ping only 00:27, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- I am very sorry, and I won't act like a banned user anymore. Thank you for issuing this notice. HiLux duck (talk) 21:21, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- ...you've missed the point. "Acting exactly like a blocked user" = is the blocked user". Just to give an example: MrDavr on Lincoln MKX vs. HiLux duck on Lincoln MKC. It is pretty clear that you are MrDavr evading their block. And you didn't answer my question above: even if you aren't MrDavr, if you have been on Wikipedia since 2019 as your userpage claims, what other accounts have you edited using? - The Bushranger One ping only 23:22, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- I am not MrDavr, and I have no proof, and I request no unblock at all if you do not believe me. You have lots of proof on your side, and I have no bad intention. I am very sorry, and this is a very unfortunate case. HiLux duck (talk) 01:12, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- "I am not a sock", said (a) almost every sock ever and (b) more importantly the editor who is actively socking. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:04, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
