Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Enzo Trulli, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Carlin. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Creating categories

[edit]

Hello. Please don't create new categories as blank pages, they are not simple metatags. You should always add categories to them (as eg I have just done at Category:Italian F4 champions ) so that humans and maintenance bots can find them in the hierarchy. And just generally, avoid WP:OVERCATEGORISATION, 3-5 categories are enough on an article. In general you should only categories by things that are WP:DEFINING enough to get mentioned in the first 2-3 lines of an article. WP:Overcategorization#Award_recipients specifically says "A category of award recipients should exist only if receiving the award is a defining characteristic for the large majority of its notable recipients. A recipient of an award should be added to a category of award recipients only if receiving the award is a defining characteristic of the recipient. In general that means international awards - F1 champions, Olympic medals, Oscars - but not national-level ones. Le Deluge (talk) 12:21, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to 2022 Italian F4 Championship. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 10:10, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Sorry, my bad I won't do it again. I'm still learning in Wikipedia by the way, I just joined in January 2022. Izzlex94 verstappenchamp (talk) 11:30, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey izzlex94, I am glad to see how well you have been doing since I left that welcome here on your talk page back in January. I just wanted to give you a heads up on some of the wording you use for your edits, you should read some parts of the linked topic. While it is understandable to put some emotion into your texts, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and should simply be factual and accurate, not taking any kind of side good or bad but only stating the facts. Some of your recent edits on Jehan Daruvala have gone against this slightly, adding commentary such as ″it all came to tears″ and ″he was untouchable″. You have been putting in quite some work on that article so you might very well be a fan of Daruvala, which is fine of course, but just keep this in mind when editing. I don't mean to discourage you in anyway, this doesn't seem to have been pointed out to you before and we all have to learn somehow right? Other than that minor thing, keep up the great work that you have been doing. Cheers. --TylerBurden (talk) 10:25, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed you put a citations template on this article, which is quite right since people have been updating results without sources. From what I have seen that seems like an issue you would be capable of solving though, and dealing with issues yourself is a whole lot more effective than tagging it for others to deal with. Doesn't mean you have to of course but putting out out there since you seem to be one of the few active with the junior categories who bother with sourcing properly. I've added a couple of sources but other races still needs the references as you saw. TylerBurden (talk) 10:56, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Christian Ho requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christian Ho. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Izzlex94 verstappenchamp/2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Dan arndt (talk) 08:26, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is my user space. I will use it for my own championship. It has no relation to the current 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Izzlex94 verstappenchamp (talk) 08:33, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In that case it should be moved to User:Izzlex94 verstappenchamp/2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship, as that is the correct space for a user draft, not in Wikipedia mainspace. Dan arndt (talk) 09:02, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copy-Paste

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:2022 Monza Formula 3 round a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 2022 Monza Formula 3 round. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Moving drafts to mainspace

[edit]

Hello, I'm writing this to let you know that by moving Draft:Joshua Dufek to Joshua Dufek yesterday, you unintentionally led to the unwanted situation of both the article and the draft getting deleted. I've successfully requested the undeletion of the draft today, but this is a warning for the future...

  • Certain drafts are incubated in the draftspace because previous AfD discussions resulted in the deletion or draftification of the main article. In Dufek's case this happened THREE times: December 2021, January 2022 and July 2022. Unilaterally moving these drafts to the mainspace is discouraged.
  • There is a "submit for review" button at the top of the draft for these cases, whereby an administrator will to decide whether the page is ready or not.
  • What on first sight might look notable (extense text, 30 sources) could actually not meet WP:GNG and more specifically WP:NMOTORSPORT. This is what led to Joshua Dufek getting nominated and deleted 3 times, and if we continue to post it, it could ultimately get SALTed (creation protection).

I appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia and in particular motorsport-related articles, but please keep this in mind in the future. Thank you. MSport1005 (talk) 23:32, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes

[edit]

Good day! I would like to know the reason why you reverted the changes I made on Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo’s userboxes. I changed Vettel’s colours to Red Bull ones as he is already retired and he is commonly known and legendary to Red Bull as he won 4 championships for them, for Daniel Ricciardo, I updated his team colours to AlphaTauri’s as he is now driving for them, also I added a picture for his userbox. If you don’t have a valid reason for this please refrain in editing those userboxes. Thank you. The Man Without Fear scare 23:20, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@The Man Without Fear: I suspect the reason Izzlex94 verstappenchamp reverted your changes might be that the huge images you added to the userboxes mess up the formatting of any userpages which transclude the templates. I've removed the images and restored the original ID values ("SV5" and "DR3"). But I left the colour changes you made. DH85868993 (talk) 07:15, 24 July 2023 (UTC) (talk page watcher)[reply]
