File permission problem with File:InfoladyCommunityService.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:InfoladyCommunityService.jpg, which you've attributed to A VRT notice was applied over 60 day(s) ago, but no message at VRTS has been found since this tag was applied.. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. [edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Aponjon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nike. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Dnet (A Social Enterprise)
[edit]Hello J1477,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Dnet (A Social Enterprise) for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Deunanknute (talk) 03:45, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Infolady Social Entrepreneurship Programme
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Infolady Social Entrepreneurship Programme requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from https://www.linkedin.com/pub/infolady-program/9b/622/259. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image File:Infolady Social Entrepreneurship Programme (logo).jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Infolady Social Entrepreneurship Programme (logo).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:35, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Rafey Kazi
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Rafey Kazi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]Hello, J1477. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but a page you created Rafey Kazi has been deleted as meeting one or more of the Categories for Speedy Deletion.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects of articles must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources which are unconnected with the subject and which provide verifiable information. Someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Also, encyclopedia articles must be neutral in tone and not use language that promotes or advocates for a subject, or tries to cast the subject in a favorable light. Please see User:Deepfriedokra/promo for examples of content to avoid. Sometimes creators of promotional/advocational content are bewildered that it is considered such. If one has been trained to write such content, or if one has spent some time writing such content, one may simply be blind to non-neutral phrases or styles. A common assumption is that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to businesses or organizations. Anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc. and CV/resumé's are by their nature promotional. Writing about oneself or any connected subject is discouraged as the connection can make objectivity difficult. Information on avoiding advocational content and common pitfalls is here and here, however be aware that these are not exhaustive.
New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can also ask for help at the TEAHOUSE

It's now generally considered good practice to draft articles under a subpage of your userspace, or in your personal sandbox, rather than at your userpage itself. I can move it for you if you want? Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 21:26, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Laura Mohiuddin
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Laura Mohiuddin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Laura Mohiuddin. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Why wasn't any time allowed before the deletion of Laura Mohiuddin to contest this time? Yes, a similar article was previously deleted, but new and more solid citations and information were added. It cannot be Wikipedia's rule that there can never be a page on Laura Mohiuddin since it was once deleted. I demand that the page be restored and more time allowed for contesting the deletion. This time, the references added did not violate section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. It seems to be getting personal this time, because I have composed Articles on public figures earlier and never had to face anything like this. J1477 (talk) 07:52, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello J1477. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Laura Mohiuddin, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:J1477. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=J1477|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Jack Frost (talk) 05:14, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- This is absurd, ridiculous and disrespectful! I have written numerous articles for Wikipedia, trying to raise notable figures in Bangladesh, because there are so few on Wikipedia. Are you allowing racism come into play here? Most importantly, why wasn't any time allowed before the deletion of Laura Mohiuddin to contest this time? Yes, a similar article was previously deleted, but new and more solid citations and information were added. It cannot be Wikipedia's rule that there can never be a page on Laura Mohiuddin since it was once deleted. I demand that the page be restored and more time allowed for contesting the deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of User:J1477
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:J1477 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". - Just because an article was deleted earlier doesn't imply that the topic is never eligible to have a Wikipedia page. Speedy deletion nomination of Over-50s Cricket World Cup 2022
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Over-50s Cricket World Cup 2022 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.over50scricket.com/world-cup-2020-cape-town. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Rafey Kazi moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Rafey Kazi. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and you may have a possible Conflict of Interest. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

- Hello Saqib,
- Thank you for your feedback. I want to clarify that my intention was to contribute an article about Rafey Kazi based on his publicly available achievements and independent sources. The information I provided is drawn from credible sources to ensure neutrality and accuracy.
- I am not being compensated for this article, nor was I asked to write it as part of my job. My goal was simply to create an informative and verifiable biography. However, I understand and respect Wikipedia’s policies regarding COI, and I am willing to proceed in a way that aligns with Wikipedia’s standards.
- I have included the following credible sources:
- The Org: This source provides an overview of Rafey Kazi’s extensive experience in the technology sector, highlighting his roles since 1996. It mentions his position as Director of IT and eCommerce at Altra Energy Technologies, his role as CIO/SVP at SunGard Energy & Commodities, and his position as CEO of COBAIT since 2010. Additionally, it covers his founding of TRIULTA, a software and technology services organization, in 2013 (THE ORG). However, I haven't mentioned TRIULTA or BizTRAQ because that would make it a promotional article.
- PressNewsRoom: This source recognizes Rafey Kazi as one of America’s PremierExperts® in technology, noting his 20-year track record in management and innovation, including his work with Fortune 500 companies such as SunGard Energy. It emphasizes his contributions to the technology field and his impact as a top-performing executive(Press News Room).
- Additionally, I want to assure you that I have not added any links or information that could lead to black hat practices. All the references included are genuine, verifiable, and adhere to Wikipedia's standards of reliability (Perhaps we could omit the reference to LinkedIn?).
- I believe we could possibly work collaboratively on this article, and I will look for more credible links to strengthen it further. Additionally, I am open to editing the draft to maintain a more neutral tone and ensure that it meets Wikipedia's guidelines.
- If you have any specific suggestions on how the draft can be improved or any concerns you'd like me to address, I’m more than happy to make the necessary adjustments.
- Best regards,
- [J1477] J1477 (talk) 18:52, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Saqib,
- I want to thank you again for your feedback. I want to clarify that the sources already included in my draft are credible and provide a comprehensive view of Rafey Kazi's professional and extracurricular achievements:
- The Org confirms Rafey Kazi’s role as CEO of COBAIT.
- World Business Outlook includes Rafey’s insights on BizTRAQ, demonstrating his expertise in business management solutions.
- Masters Cricket USA and International Masters Cricket illustrate his involvement in cricket at an international level.
- I hope this clarifies the sources used and demonstrates his notability. I'm happy to make further improvements if needed. May I now proceed to edit the article?
- Best regards,
- [J1477] J1477 (talk) 19:53, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don’t think the BLP meets the GNG because the coverage doesn’t seem significant, even if you view it differently. I recommend submitting it for review instead of unilaterally moving the BLP to the main namespace. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 08:30, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, J1477. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Mohiuddin Ahmed (diplomat), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 09:00, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- You're quite exposed now so you really need to honestly declare your COI or you risk getting blocked. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 09:01, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- I understand that concerns have been raised regarding a potential conflict of interest (COI) in relation to the articles I’ve written about Mohiuddin Ahmed, Laura Mohiuddin, and Rafey Kazi, and I’d like to clarify my motivations and address the issue directly.
- First and foremost, my intention in writing these articles has been to contribute to Wikipedia by documenting notable individuals based on research and publicly available sources. Here is the context of how I came across these figures and why I believe there is no question of COI:
- Mohiuddin Ahmed: Being a proud Bangladeshi, I have been drawn to Mohiuddin Ahmed for a long time because of his well-known role as a freedom fighter during Bangladesh's war of independence from Pakistan and his subsequent diplomatic career. I watched many of his TV shows and read his columns on renowned news platforms in Bangladesh. His historical significance and contributions to diplomacy are well documented, and I felt they merited inclusion in Wikipedia as part of my general interest in notable historical figures, especially those connected to South Asian history.
- Laura Mohiuddin: While researching Mohiuddin Ahmed’s family and connections, I came across Laura Mohiuddin a long time ago. I was particularly interested in her involvement with social entrepreneurship through the Infolady and other programs, which had a meaningful impact on empowering women in rural areas. I believed that her innovative work in these field was notable, and that’s why I decided to write an article on her. It was through this research that I learned of her professional career in digital marketing.
- Rafey Kazi: During my research on Laura Mohiuddin, I discovered her connection to COBAIT, and that is where I came across Rafey Kazi. I was fascinated by his dual career as an IT leader and cricketer and found that his role in both fields warranted attention. His involvement in veteran cricket, especially the Over-50s Cricket World Cup, and his leadership in the technology sector were both well documented through independent sources. Rafey Kazi has been recognized as one of America’s PremierExperts® for his contributions to the IT sector and cybersecurity. This is a significant honor that reflects his impact in a highly specialized field. Additionally, he has been featured in Fast Company magazine in a full-page spread titled 'You Can’t Get Unhacked,' further underscoring his expertise and thought leadership in technology and security. My intent in writing about Rafey Kazi was to highlight his achievements in these fields, not to promote any particular organization or person.
- No Promotional Intent: I want to make it very clear that I did not promote any company, link, or specific organization in any of the articles I’ve written. My goal was to ensure that notable contributions from individuals in the fields of technology, cricket, diplomacy, and social entrepreneurship were represented on Wikipedia. At no point did I attempt to advertise or promote any business or product, and I have adhered to Wikipedia’s standards of neutrality and verifiability.
- Contribution Beyond These Articles: It’s also worth noting that I have contributed to Wikipedia by writing and editing articles on various other topics unrelated to these individuals. My editing activity reflects a broad interest in contributing to the platform, and the articles related to Mohiuddin Ahmed, Laura Mohiuddin, and Rafey Kazi just happen to be part of that larger effort to highlight underrepresented but notable individuals.
- Addressing Sources: I acknowledge the concerns about the use of certain sources like PressNewsRoom and The Org, and I am more than willing to improve the articles by replacing these with more reliable sources where available. However, my use of these sources was based on their availability at the time, and I believed they provided verifiable information about the subjects. I am open to working with other editors to strengthen the articles with more widely recognized sources.
- Conclusion:
- In conclusion, my contributions were driven by an interest in documenting notable figures from different fields. While I understand that the individuals I’ve written about are connected, I did not set out to write about them with any promotional intent or COI. I believe that each of these individuals has made independent contributions that deserve recognition. I remain committed to upholding Wikipedia’s neutrality standards and am happy to address any specific concerns to improve the quality and reliability of the articles.
- Additionally, most notable figures are already well-documented on Wikipedia, and as a contributor, it’s my goal to bring attention to other individuals who have made significant contributions but may not have had the same level of public visibility. While widely recognized figures tend to get covered quickly, there are many notable people in the fields of diplomacy, technology, social entrepreneurship, and sports who deserve a place on Wikipedia. My intent is to highlight these figures, particularly those from diverse backgrounds, whose contributions might otherwise go unnoticed.
- In conclusion, I want to emphasize that my intent in contributing to Wikipedia has always been with good intentions—to highlight notable individuals and organizations who may otherwise go unnoticed. I have made numerous contributions to the platform, all with the goal of expanding the knowledge available and ensuring that underrepresented figures receive the recognition they deserve. I have worked hard to follow Wikipedia’s guidelines, and it would indeed be disappointing if my account were to be banned when no conflict of interest exists. My only goal was to contribute positively to the community, and I hope this is recognized in the review of my contributions. J1477 (talk) 10:44, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 11:21, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- You said you wouldn’t edit these articles again, yet you continue to participate in AFD. Also, on Commons, you uploaded images of Laura, Rafey, and
your fatherMohiuddin Ahmed, claiming them as your own work. Can you explain how you obtained all those images? I need clarification on this, please. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 16:09, 16 October 2024 (UTC)- Thank you for your feedback, and I apologize if I’ve made any errors in my approach. While I’m not entirely new to editing on Wikipedia, I don’t write articles very often, and I wasn’t fully aware of all the rules regarding participation in AFD discussions after stepping back from editing certain articles. I understand this better now and will be more mindful going forward.
- Regarding the images of Laura Mohiuddin, Rafey Kazi, and Mohiuddin Ahmed, I mistakenly claimed them as my own work when they were actually publicly available photographs. I didn’t intend to breach Wikipedia’s image guidelines, and I am happy to take corrective steps, such as providing proper attribution or removing the images, depending on what is most appropriate.
- As for the conflict of interest concerns, I recognize that some of my previous edits may have appeared to reflect a COI. While I do not have a direct relationship with these individuals, I understand that my involvement with multiple related articles could be seen this way. I am willing to tag the relevant articles accordingly and ensure that any future contributions adhere fully to Wikipedia’s policies.
- Thank you again for your help, and I appreciate your time and patience in bringing these matters to my attention. I’m committed to correcting any mistakes and contributing positively to the Wikipedia community. J1477 (talk) 17:01, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:
- Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
- State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
- Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:
I apologize for my previous actions that led to this block. I now fully understand that my edits may have unintentionally violated Wikipedia's policies regarding paid editing and conflict of interest. I recognize the importance of transparency in editing and regret not disclosing any affiliations or relationships that might have created a conflict of interest. I have thoroughly read and understood Wikipedia’s policies on conflict of interest (COI) and paid editing (WP:COI and WP:PAID) and will adhere strictly to these guidelines going forward. If unblocked, I will make sure to disclose any potential COI before making edits, or I will refrain from editing articles related to topics where I have a personal or professional connection. I am committed to contributing neutrally and positively to Wikipedia in the future. I would greatly appreciate another chance to contribute to Wikipedia while following its guidelines. Thank you for your time and consideration. J1477 (talk) 17:12, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I can not see anywhere where you fully and completely disclosed your conflict of interest. Additionally, your use of AI is problematic. Yamla (talk) 17:05, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Unless the user honestly and transparently declares their COI, I strongly advise against unblocking them. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 17:14, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- The unblock request was AI generated according to gptzero.me (all of the user's various sizable posts today have been AI generated). That being the case I really don't see how it can possibly be accepted because it is not the words of the blocked user and the commitments that have been made re: following policies thus carry no weight. Axad12 (talk) 17:22, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
You have three simultaneous open unblock requests. Please remove two of them. --Yamla (talk) 18:28, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Yamla: I have removed two of them and just kept one. J1477 (talk) 07:44, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Yamla, I believe I have mentioned several times that Mohiuddin Ahmed, Laura Mohiuddin, and Rafey Kazi are acquaintances. I will not admit to getting compensation for my writing because I wasn't. Contributing to Wikipedia is like a hobby for me. You should be able to tell from my edits that I am not much experienced, and nobody would pay me for writing about them or their organizations on Wikipedia. If payment was involved, a professional would have been hired. And honestly, I didn't know that writing about acquaintances is a COI. On one hand, editors are asked to get in touch with the person you are writing about if you want to use their photographs so they can write an email to Wikipedia. On the other hand, you are not allowed to write about people you know. Kind of contradictory given that you cannot get in touch with people that you don't know. J1477 (talk) 17:25, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
I second Yamla. (You, J1477, may have been under the impression that Saqib or Axad12 was an administrator, reviewing the block and concluding that it was justified. Not so.) After you've removed two of the requests, you are free to update or otherwise change the request that remains. -- Hoary (talk) 23:26, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

- I suggest that any admin looking at the unblock request might have a look at the relevant thread at WP:COIN. Axad12 (talk) 10:17, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Axad12,
- I would like to bring up a few points related to your recent comments. While I understand that there is likely to be a number of valid questions raised about AI being used, I tend to feel here that your repeated emphasis with your tone feels targeted, repetitive, and sarcastic. I think your comment that my post was "primarily written by AI" is unnecessary and detracts from the actual discussion.
- As far as I am normally aware, AI use is not forbidden in drafting contributions or comments, provided it can be considered fit for use on Wikipedia in line with the verifiability and neutrality policies. They were not generated by bots. My motive has been to make positive submissions to which I always abide in respect of Wikipedia policy. I believe all discussions should be treated respectfully and improve this particular platform.
- I would be grateful for your considering my request that we keep the discussion relevant and respectfully civil. Moving forward, I would appreciate it if we might refrain from sarcasm or dismissiveness in comments.
- My account has been blocked, and my articles for which I have worked so hard without getting any compensation whatsoever (whether you believe it or not is not my concern anymore at this point) are getting deleted. I feel you should feel satisfied at this point.
- Thank you for your understanding.
- Best regards,
- J1477

- Hi, Thanks for your post above.
- This is just a note to say that I do not feel any animosity towards you.
- With regard to AI use... The simple fact is that AI cannot understand anything, it cannot apologise for anything, and it cannot make reasoned arguments on the basis of notability or any other Wikipedia policies. All it can do is trawl the internet and construct vaguely plausible text that usually makes some kind of sense, while not really saying very much. It is immediately noticeable as AI text to most experienced English speaking Wikipedians and the sentiments expressed in AI text are generally thought to be entirely bogus.
- So, using AI on Wikipedia is usually counterproductive, and indeed your problematic AI use was a factor in your block appeal being declined.
- You mention respect above, but communicating with others using AI, giving the impression that the other person is not communicating with a human being, is deeply disrespectful. I hope that my words here clarify to some extent the extreme distaste that most Wikipedia users have for AI use. Hopefully you will take this on board.
- I feel no sense of satisfaction at you having been blocked, I only feel sorrow at the large number of opportunities that you had to declare your very obvious COI during your many years of undeclared COI editing. Instead you chose to deny it repeatedly, and this is where things ended up.
- Indeed I see that you still deny any meaningful COI above in you response to Yamla, which demonstrates how correct it was for your unblock request to be declined.
- Kind regards, Axad12 (talk) 17:33, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- Dear Axad12,
- Congratulations on achieving what you so clearly set out to do. You got my account blocked and my articles deleted—including one that has been on Wikipedia for over two years—of an extremely notable freedom fighter from Bangladesh, whose death was officially mourned by the Prime Minister and who was laid to rest with state honors. But then again, Bangladesh is one of those countries that tends to fall into the low-importance category in most WikiProjects on Wikipedia. I can understand why @Saqib would have an issue over a freedom fighter who fought against Pakistan. Your doggedness has paid off, and I can only hope you are satisfied with the outcome.
- Actually, I get the feeling there is a bit of a thrill in your tone, a feeling that achieving this has earned you a sense of accomplishment. In the spirit of now having nothing left to lose, I'd like to take up some of your arguments, most particularly about the use of AI. You said, "AI cannot understand anything, it cannot apologize for anything, and it cannot make reasoned arguments on the basis of notability or on any other Wikipedia policies." And while this may be somewhat technically true, AI is a tool—nothing different in that respect from the many other tools in use. The difference with AI and bots is that it is I, the user, inputting my thoughts and direction into the AI, and as such, any material generated reflects my ideas, my points, and my perspective. It's not "bogus" or "disrespectful" simply because a tool is being used.
- AI is not some senseless machine spewing random thoughts but requires the interaction of a human element and intention. If one is arguing that it shouldn't be used at all on Wikipedia, that's another discussion. AI assisted me, yes, but it didn't replace me. I also wonder why you needed the help of a tool to recognize that my text was AI-generated.
- Obviously, it wasn't as "immediately noticeable" to you as you claim. However, let me assure you that even "non-English-speaking" Wikipedians can also recognize AI text, but since it isn't against Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, I used the tool anyhow.
- The quip "AI text to most experienced English-speaking Wikipedians is thought to be entirely bogus" is not only condescending, but frankly, it is racistic and deragotory. The comment strongly implies bias, and I am strongly inclined to speculate that this bias is the reason as to why I, coming from Bangladesh, am being scrutinized so heavily. Let's not pretend this is about the AI or COI. Your relentless pursuit of finding fault, whether by sarcasm or digs, makes your intentions quite clear. You've taken a personal interest in having my contributions removed and my account blocked. Whether that is part of unconscious bias or to gatekeep certain aspects of Wikipedia, only you can say. I have worked for days on these articles, not out of malice or for remuneration but out of passion and dedication.
- I harnessed an AI tool and yet spent a whole day and night trying to save my account and my articles from deletion. To say the least, it has been a harassing experience. But it has been a valuable learning experience as well. I thank you and @Saqib for that.
- Congratulations again, then. You win, and I hope that the thrill of victory provides you with the satisfaction that you so clearly sought. Perhaps you may consider spending your time on constructive accomplishments. May the Almighty grant you some conscience. Regards, J1477 J1477 (talk) 19:02, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- My post above was simply an explanation of why AI use is frowned upon by many Wikipedians and why the precise purposes that you had used it for were inappropriate. I would have hoped that the fact that your AI generated unblock request was declined (partly because it was AI generated) would have indicated to you that there was some truth in what I had said.
- I wish you well in your future endeavours.
- Kind regards, Axad12 (talk) 19:24, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
