A tag has been placed on Oskar Ibru requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Jay Kenechukwu. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 19:56, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have a conflict of interest or external relationship with the people I have written about. Everything I put up on those Wikipedia pages are sourced from independent news outlets...unless you are implying these outlets are conflicted or maintain a relationship with the subjects. Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 20:17, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kemi Ibru requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://africanpf.org/speakers/kemi-dasilva-ibru/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 20:38, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not going to bother to Contest this. A renowned physician that has been profiled by Forbes, CNN, CNBC, etc for her works doesn't deserve a Wikipedia biography page? But the likes of Bob risky and Jay boogie do? I think it's now evident that Wikipedia is merely a popularity Contest.
Goodluck!! Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 20:45, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I now understand the reason given for the speedy deletion nomination. Copyright infringement. Fair enough. Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 20:51, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Emmanuel Ibru, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Nomination of Emmanuel Ibru for deletion

[edit]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emmanuel Ibru until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Vanderwaalforces (talk) 22:32, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The page has been reviewed and it eminently qualifies (as I was notified by the user DreamRimmer). This is the second time you've nominated this article for deletion yet it's passed review both times.
Give it a rest, thank you. Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 07:05, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Do not remove the AfD template from the page as it is not advisable. Instead, discuss on the AfD page why you think the page should not be deleted. I am suspecting a WP:COI and WP:UPE here and your attitude towards that particular article is suspicious. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 08:16, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's no conflict of interest here. Everything stated on the article is publicly verifiable from reputable media sources. The man is a notable businessman in Nigeria from an established well known family.
Other users have reviewed this article and found it was qualified for Wikipedia. It seems you have a personal problem with the subject. It is your attitude that is suspicious. Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 08:22, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The reason DreamRimmer marked it as reviewed is because it has been nominated for deletion and that is normal. Argument here is not necessary at all, I'd advise you go to the AfD and present your argument I'm only judging based on my understanding of the inclusion guidelines here. Regards, Vanderwaalforces (talk) 08:28, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the user (A.B and DreamRimmer) have both countered your AFD nominations yet you've been adamant about it. It is your attitude that is suspicious not mine.
I cited every publicly available information from reputable sources on the subject. The subject qualifies for a Wikipedia biography page. Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 08:30, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've marked it as reviewed to remove it from the New Pages queue. Currently, the community is discussing its notability, and we'll wait for the consensus from the AfD discussion to decide what to do next. – DreamRimmer (talk) 08:31, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Understood. Thank you. Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 08:39, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ibru Organization, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Media. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion

[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. 2601:19E:4180:6D50:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 19:13, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Ibru family and it's members are famous/notable/admired figures in Africa. And I study them same way I do other notable families in Nigeria. Every edit I have ever made has been accompanied by independent/verifiable citations from reputable sources. It's not my personal opinion.
So go ahead with your conflict of interest discussion. I honestly don't care.
Thank you. Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 08:03, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to add that no one will police my area of interest or what I choose to edit on Wikipedia. Jay Kenechukwu (talk) 08:06, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
