The purpose of warnings is get an editor to stop whatever it is they are doing and you did stop then left a civil note on my talk page which are the right things to do. Afterwards I noticed you had not yet received a Welcome message with helpful guidance about editing Wikipedia which I thought was the right thing for me to do.
