Welcome VNW060222!
Hello VNW060222. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm Paine Ellsworth, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism

  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Speedy deletion nomination of Robert Fico (Political)

[edit]

Hello VNW060222,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Justiyaya, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Robert Fico (Political), for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Robert Fico. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Justiyaya}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hi there! please do not copy and paste existing pages onto new pages, it creates a decent bit of issues, we move the pages instead and for popular pages there usually is discussion before that could occur. The new title isn't really great either, political should probably be politician and I don't think there is any other pages that might cause the added specifier to be necessary. Justiyaya 13:55, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also there's no need to use parentheses to disambiguate Robert Fico from Robert Rico, which I think is what you were trying to do. We only do this when two subjects have the same name, not similar looking names. See WP:DAB for the guidelines. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 14:39, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How to make a request

[edit]

Instead of "you add missing armed force" it would be more polite to say "please could you add this missing flag for the armed forces" — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:50, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you VNW060222 (talk) 06:53, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to 26th Mechanized Infantry Division (South Korea). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Justiyaya 10:04, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi VNW060222, verifiability is one of Wikipedia's core content policies. Please add sources to the page and resubmit when you are ready. Justiyaya 10:06, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Brügger & Thomet APR, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 07:50, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:61CD:5C49:1BCD:428C. I noticed that you recently removed all content from a page. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:61CD:5C49:1BCD:428C (talk) 13:41, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Vietnam–United Kingdom relations. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. @VNW060222, I noticed that you attempted to cut and paste move the page again. This is not an appropriate way to move pages. Hey man im josh (talk) 11:37, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey man, can you help me on Talk:Vietnam–United Kingdom relations please! VNW060222 (talk) 11:52, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IP block exempt

[edit]

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking for a period of 6 months. If you still need an IP block exemption after it expires, please file a new request. This will allow you to edit the English Wikipedia through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions. Inappropriate usage of this user right may result in revocation. I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Yamla (talk) 14:38, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
