Internet Truckstop
[edit]A tag has been placed on Internet Truckstop, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Woodym555 22:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Internet Truckstop
[edit]May i be another person to welcome you to wikipedia. I nominated the article for deletion because it had no context or links of any kind. After seeing douglastaylors commments i see that you were trying to create smaller articles. I apologise if i offended you in anyway but the artilce has to be fleshed out to avoid being flagged for deletion. Again, i did not wish to disparage your edits, more a request for more information added to them. Happy editing! Woodym555 23:54, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Combination possiblities
[edit]I am aware of the attempts by Vatsun to flesh out the number of Idaho articles, for certain reasons. Would it be possible to incorporate the various articles under debate into connected, larger articles? (For example, "Scott Moscrip", "Roady's Truck Stops", and "Internet Truckstop" into the article "New Plymouth, ID". Or "Francois Payette" into "Payette County".) It might be easier to do that rather than delete the material. Also, I have citations for all of the material written about, so I can add that to the intregrated pages, thus proving that the material is not hogwash. Luminece 16:34, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Cataldo Mission / Old Mission State Park
[edit]Hey, that was rather abrupt! You eliminated the article "Cataldo Mission" by merger of its material into your new article "Old Mission State Park".
I appreciate that you have new material, new information and photos, and probably only one article is necessary, hence a merger makes sense. However, it is more usual to post a proposal for a merger being needed, and allow discussion, such as which article should be merged. Perhaps you do not know that you can do that by "mergeto" and "mergefrom" tags. For example this mergefrom is an edit I recently made, that corresponded to a matching mergeto in the article i identified as a duplicate under another name.
In my experience in wikipedia, it has usually been agreed to merge the newer article into the older one, so as not to wipe out the older edit history, but you went the other way already. I don't care about edit history so very much, but I note your change has the effect of showing you as the page creator, when it could be argued that it was only your mistake not to find the pre-existing article and add to that, then perhaps move it to a new name if there was consensus for that. I worked on this article with another editor, too, who should have a say. Would you mind if I got an administrator's help to put the new combined article back with the previous history? And, I am not sure about the new name, and I am not sure about having dropped one of the nice historic photos. I think the abruptness of your elimination of some of our final product, and all of our edit history, rubs me the wrong way. Would you please comment? doncram (talk) 02:49, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm...I do like the new pics, but would have kept the old ones in the article as well. We did spend some time reviewing options and choosing it. I, too, object to the loss of edit history. I don't otherwise object to a merger. Coming from the wikiworld of National Historic Landmarks and Registered Historic Places, I like to have an article that uses the name of the landmark as the title. Speedy deletion nomination of Scott Moscrip
[edit]A tag has been placed on Scott Moscrip, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
